Moscona also reporting LSU's NIL offer to Phillips was $800K per year for two years or $1.6 million. After two years renegotiate.
The Texas offer was $1 million for 1 year and after one year renegotiate.
Sounds like LSU is trying to lock up Jackson from Florida. He's a day one starter whereas Phillips is not necessarily a day one starter.

He also just reiterated on YT that the optics are bad, and not everything is fine, but it's worth waiting to see who is coming back and how many impact guys you can get from the portal. Seems reasonable to me.

The real question is if LSU will over pay in the portal or they drawing a line in the sand that LSU will not over pay.

This is my fear as well. It doesn’t give me confidence hearing the reports that collectives will be dumping large amounts of cash due to the rev share cap coming next year.

Bc it was probably cheaper to pay his recruits at the time. Where veterans portal guys were more. But now hs recruits want more $$ and unproven.

I would assume this was the plan all along because we hired Austin Thomas. We have to do a better job than Ole Miss as far as getting highschool kids. Which I believe we have done. That’s why Ole Miss is going to be in trouble this year unless they can replicate the portal like last year.

To be fair, I think he is responding to the market. The price for top end recruits has skyrocketed and now the portal may be a better use of funds. I think they simply aren't going to pay multi-millions for unproven recruits.
