It's certainly not an injury to dismiss as minimal, but unless you examined and treated him, you don't know shite.

Leavitt is damaged goods. I am in the medical field I know more about Lisfranc than 99% of the people on this board. I will be shocked if he recovers 100% from the injury in time for the season.

You're reaching a little here. Yes he will miss spring football, but he'll be healthy in time for fall camp and the start of the season. He'll have plenty time to learn the play book, use the VR, do walk throughs with the plays and the offense, just won't be able to practice.

Wild, you would think with his vast medical knowledge in dealing with Lis Franc injuries he would know this. He’s probably a 27 year old Paragon rep acting like an MD.

I got crucified on here last week for saying Ole Miss winning against UGA was going to absolutely frick us and sure enough it did. Absolutely 0 fricking reason our coaches should’ve been coaching in any of OM’s playoff games.
Your original premise is wrong.

You think Kiffin didn't sign Lacy because Ole Miss is still in the playoffs. Wrong. LSU was unwilling to pay Lacy what Ole Miss was willing to pay Lacy. Lacy has more value to Ole Miss because, in addition to the value of his talent, his signing represents a win against LSU, whereas to LSU, Lacy's value is based solely on his talent. Ole Miss is desperate for wins against LSU right now, and they are willing to pay large sums for them.

OM is on pace to retain 90% of their roster and we are out here losing guys left and right on our existing roster with minimal additions so far in the portal to replace them. This shite is going to get ugly quick Lane better right the ship.
It's only the fourth day after the portal opened.

Kiffin signed 30 players from the portal last year.

First day: NOBODY.
Second day: NOBODY.
Third day: NOBODY.
Fourth day: only two players, one from UNC-Charlotte (total of 2 players).
Fifth day: two players from Arkansas (total of 4 players).
Sixth day: another Arkansas player and a Nebraska player (total of 6 players).
Seventh day: a Missouri RB named Lacy who had rushed for only 104 yards (total of 7 players).
Eighth day: just two more players (total of 9 players).
Ninth day: just one player (total of 10 players).
Tenth day: a UAB player and a Marshall player (total of 12 players).

Just TWELEVE players in the first TEN days!

Relax. Be patient. This shite takes time.

The running back Raycine is ranked the 75th best running back in the portal. Not a typo, 75. For perspective all FOUR of LSU’s running backs that entered the portal. Durham, Johnson, Jackson, and Lindsey are rated higher than that. Durham (who I’d like to bring back) is 6th.

The WRs are ranked 23 and 31st best WRs in the portal.

Thomas was ranked the 34th best TE in the portal.

There’s something to be said about finding diamonds in the rough, and not every top ranked prospect will pan out (Nic Anderson). But to not have ANYBODY lined up in even the top 20 of their position group is a bad look for LSU

LSU just needs to stop recruiting any other Ole Miss players. It’s giving them fuel and bulletin board material if anything. They all seem happy to stick it to LSU and Lane. Chambliss isn’t happening and neither is Lacy. Those are the two leaders, now that they’ve both publicly rejected LSU it’s only going to fuel them more.

Some of you people have junior high minds. Schools don't recruit players to " stick" it to other schools. The belief that Chambliss and Lacy were going to follow Kiffin to LSU was totally a creation of the dreams of many fans. Neithe rhas entered the portal. OM has acted proactively to assure this does not happen, the same way LSU has done this to assure its top players not enter the portal. Neither player rejected LSU any more than they rejected other schools. Everything in college football does not run through some LSU filter except in your own simple minds.

I don’t believe this. It was pretty obvious to anyone that watched the UGA game. If the money was equal that Chambliss and Lacy would choose to return to Ole Miss over LSU. Honestly after watching that game and seeing their faces I truly believe they’d take less money at Ole Miss than more money at LSU.

I don’t see why you think he can’t be a depth piece right now. Not everyone can start, and depth matters. If you watched last season, you’d know we need four RBs. He’s young, and that matters too. Check his high school ranking coming out because dismissing him outright makes no sense. (And the Jackson take is laughable.)

The same logic applies to tight ends. We need multiple TEs. You can’t build a roster with starters only; you need role players for different packages, blocking, red zone, and depth.

Also, stop blindly following Rivals rankings. Go look up who had the most 60-plus-yard receptions last year and then check which of them finished top-10 in yards per catch..it was both of them. That matters more than a star rating.

I think this Ole Miss team, as a whole, was a lot better than most people in the country thought, myself included. Many were caught off guard by them beating UGA on Thursday night, including Las Vegas.

Just be thankful that the people we did land from Ole Miss are the people who put this team together and coached it. I'll take that over two skill position players we would only have for one year anyway. Especially with respect to QB, when has a Lane Kiffin team ever had a QB who was not productive? Kiffin will find someone who fits his scheme and coach him up. Last year at this time no one had ever heard of Trinidad Chambliss.

You're certainly entitled to believe what you want to believe. Players do have happy faces when they win big games.

However, Fletcher, Cleo, and Bryan are businessmen. They are looking out for the future and financial interests of their clients. Moreover, Lacy and Chambliss did not sign any contracts during or immediately after the game.

Ole Miss overpaid.

Fletcher, Cleo, and Bryan made sure that Ole Miss overpaid. That's their job.

I don’t mind them joining the team. From all accounts Raycine is a good prospect.

I just think the fact is right now LSU has lost higher rated players than they’ve brought in.

There’s no arguing with that.

Am i ultra concerned like the OP? Not really. But it’s a bad sign of the program if it doesn’t change soon.

OM getting into the playoffs was not good then getting deep into the playoffs was worse. OM players are not going to hit the portal while still alive for a Natty. Plus if you were counting on Lane stealing all their players that’s a bad assumption. On top of all that OM retained and promoted Pete Golding…….their is one thing to know about Golding. He is a great recruiter and a salesman type. So these things are out of our control and all you can do is hope Miami beats them.

who are you most concerned about us losing?

The influx of Ole Miss players to replace the LSU guys they supposedly cut bait on. Chambliss, Lacy, and more than likely so Oline. I can’t believe we are still sending coaches there meanwhile the are threatening to hit us with tampering.
