Pass. Kid wouldn't have half those stats vs SEC competition. LSU needs legitimate game wreckers on defense, not average players. Brian Kelly said we'd be aggressive and this kid isn't falling under the "aggressive" category. Anybody could get him. Go after the kid from Nebraska ranked #1 overall. That's an aggressive move.

Just for the sake of clarity…
Purdue and Nebraska are in the same conference.

He has 5 sacks in a conference that's pass 1st. I'm not a scout so I'm not going to watch his highlights that were put together to make him look great and act like he's the next Myles Garrett. He's average and we don't need average.
Swinson had 8 total tackles and 0 sacks when LSU picked him up from that exact same conference and he turned out pretty good.

Purdue is probably the worst team in an 18 team conference. That means not many teams are going to be passing a lot on them. The only power 2 team worse than Purdue was Miss St.

HS juniors have agents now

You realize he's in the big 10 right? Not exactly pass first conference. I mean all conferences are more pass heavy than 10 years ago but the big 10 isn't air raid, they still like to run the ball up there.

To be honest, I’m only just realizing how viable this strategy is. There’s a pretty good number of strong edge rushers entering the portal each year, so it probably costs less for a guy like this than to get a 5 star edge out of high school who is unproven. Swinson is proof. I’ll take the junior from the big ten who has learned to earn every snap over the 5 star freshman who wants to be handed 7 figures and the starting job.

Kelly's gonna grab this non-SEC-caliber edge rusher right away and say he was aggressive in the portal.

Bradyn Swinson had 3 sacks during his 3 years at Oregon.

That's obvious

Weird how you stop responding after it’s proven he’s ranked as the top edge transfer in the portal. Clown

Would be a huge get. Wonder if he would pick us over A&M

Peoples can show him how he developed Swinson from the same conference from a future UDFA to a day 2 pick.

We need day 1 first round nfl talent d line monsters that take games over.
We may need that but the portal history suggests that the majority of the guys that get in the portal are not close to that. This year's version of the portal may prove different but I'll believe it when I see it.

That plus the money we have available after losing those five stars should be enough I’d say. Brown, Hudson, and Heldt would take up most of the NIL we have available but would be worth it

I can get behind Heldt on one side and Charpenter on the other. "The White Assassins"

Right, I know what’s happening.
There are also many so-called agents (or hustlers) who are paid by other schools (boosters) to pose as representatives, with the ultimate goal of directing players to those schools.

According to the Edge Rankings, we need to recruit this Womack kid…
And for the record, I was never SUPER impressed with him…not a GameChanger, just solid

High School kids have Agents.

I agree with you. Looks like he has quickness and speed on his highlights. As far as "highlights" I have never seen any HUDL videos showing bad plays for anyone so you just have to judge him "vs the football field", NOT against the competition. He eats up the ground quickly so that is enough for me..

“per his agents”
They have middle men who reach out to universities asking how much would they pay if player XYZ got in the portal, then go down the line until they get the highest number. Then they’ll DM that player (who may not even be looking to get in the portal) and say I can get you $350k from this school if you were to consider transferring. Then they’ll take 10% off.
