Then I guess that would mean roughly 500 players would play for Wade at LSU.

As others have noted, that's a total number. After backing out lower divisions, walk-ons, players with no eligibility left, etc., there were probably 2,000 viable players between Div I & II and JUCO. The staff certainly looked at some JUCO & Div II guys, but it's pretty easy to screen even 2,000 players with advanced analytics and predictive stats. Wade has a system he uses, and they probably were able to quickly narrow it down to 120-130 guys they wanted to spend more time evaluating.

Yea and someone else (Maybe you) mentioned it. The transfer portal isn't the same as it was previously.
A lot of these guys have agents working behind the scene during the season now, so it's hard to catch up when you don't have that foundation put together. So of those 120 or so probably more than half already had a top 4-5 schools they were dealing with.
Not an excuse for the staff we should still be able to build a NCAA tournament team(And if all the eligibility goes well I think we have one). The ceiling though may be limited.

Should easily be a tourney team. Especially with tourney going to 76. How good? Idk, hard to know all these international guys will look together. Still have to find a pg somewhere I think. I don’t see any way Luis will be eligible.

Yeah, I watched his highlights when they announced him. Was very impressed but he wasn't getting to much hype. Hope we get him cleared.

After not receiving a lot of playing time recently, Yam Madar scored 41 with 5 assists yesterday against a team “that would destroy any SEC team” according to Arman Jovic.
There was a postgame Israeli media report that Madar was not going to transfer to LSU after all. His family responded that the report wasn’t true and he still wants to play college basketball next year.
Sounds like the NCAA is going to push back on Madar and we’d have to fight in court. It also sounds like based on recent precedent he should have 1 season remaining to play at LSU due to his military service time…so we’d have a good shot to win if we want to fight it.

I’m sure the ncaa will fight us on all these kids but Wade is prepared to fight and may well field a team that will be ripping folks a new a- hole come basketball season

I think RJ Luis might be a long shot to be cleared. It will likely come down to technicalities in the rules or loopholes
