So I think besides Luis if they all come over, which for Niang and Madar are still big ifs, they will be able to play at LSU.

Didn’t LSU announce the Niang signing? Why would they do that if it’s stilll a “big if”?

They may have, I know it was announced all over social media. As well as by reputable Euro basketball media. My gut tells me he will come down to the end and sad because he is my favorite player from this committed class thus far. There are CBA things to consider. As well as honestly think he could come down to a day before school and choose to stay in Europe and play pro ball with which he is familiar and this was his first full year in the Euroleague, by the end he was getting more PT and really seemed to enjoy that type of atmosphere.

Staff thoughts they may or probably will be ruled ineligible by the NCAA which is silly and wild for a ton of reasons, in house counsel and defense firms finna eat.

There is a bit of a misconception out there that the NCAA is getting run roughshod by athletes legal challenges. Post NIL, the NCAA has won most of the cases challenging eligibility. The 5-for-5 rule and updated international guidance primarily focus on closing the gap that the NCAA has struggled to defend in court.

Also, there won't be a mass banning of "amatuer" internationals. Ruzik should still be eligible to play at LSU, and for example, the three internationals at Florida, who all came over in the 18-19 yr old range. Unfortunately, the rest of the LSU international haul probably will be deemed ineligible

Is that bad for LSU? Absolutely, but it really doesn't change things because Wade and the staff always knew this was a 1-year Hail Mary fix. The future outlook for LSU under Wade, given this NIL commitment, remains unlimited. So, Wade haters better enjoy next season

ETA: I still believe Wade gets this team into the expanded tournament, even without all the internationals.

How many of the committed internationals do you think will be eligible for this year?

Not including Luis Jr. I would say 4/5, will be able to play.

With double the roster construction funds this season, the staff has massive leverage in the portal. Landing solid international talent alongside proven depth will make this offseason highly impactful.

Luis Jr, will need a heck of a legal defense, and a federal judge that has a very broad interpretation of certain things .

CTT, thank you for what you’re doing. Greatly appreciated. Looks like we’ll find out in the next 36 hours, but any update today on Graves?

Also wondering if you have any new names we should keep an eye on during the coming weeks.

I just can't see it happening for Luis. Maybe I just don't want to set myself up for disappointment.

Likely to be a state court judge. See Chambliss for example. Hard for the NCAA to get diversity jurisdiction.

I don't think its happening with Graves. Seems like he is confident in a first round spot.

But Sergio De Larrea (If the smoke is true) looks like he won't go in the first round so could be leaving the door open for us to make a real push for him.
