Wouldn't mind get 1-2 more guys beyond for depth...guessing that could be reserved for a Hampton or other HS guys?

May 15 roster update: Guards: Ugo Bashir Madar (not done yet but likely) TBD (staff is still working on Montero but will be a really tough pull) Wings/Bigs Niang (done deal) Dessert (done deal) Mo Dioubate Santos RJ Louis (done deal but gotta clear up eligibility) Graves (50/50 draft or LSU rn) If all pieces fall into place thats 10 guys. But Montero is trending staying so wouldn’t get hopes up there

Forgot to mention Ryan Hampton. Hampton reclassifying will mainly depend on what happens with Graves and Montero

I just watched the 2nd half of the game against France, and Madar played better in the 2nd half. I've changed my mind. He moved well without the ball, and I liked a lot of the subtle fakes and misdirection. I don't think he's a strong defender, but he seems adequate. I reminds me of Dedan Thomas.

Constanza is still out there. Some were reporting that he visited. Not sure though, and don't think he'd be one Wade would want to "pay" as one of his top 8-9. Would love to have him though.

Constanza

He’s not good. Those 60-120 ranked kids (that McMahon loved to clean up on) are just in a shitty spot in this era of CBB. All the potential based on traits and build but major conferences don’t want to pay for guys that can’t contribute

You watch your damn mouth when you’re talking about the tactical genius who is Matt McMahon.

Not sure you know this but McMahon coached Ja Morant

Me too. He truly energized the fans and really embraced us. I’ll miss those days

Sometimes fanbases treat coaches like people treat airline pilots. If the landing is rough, people walk off the plane talking like the pilot is an idiot who has no business flying. But most of the people complaining couldn’t get the plane off the ground in the first place. That doesn’t mean the landing was acceptable or that changes shouldn’t happen. But there’s a difference between evaluating performance and forgetting you’re still talking about a human being with decades of discipline, sacrifice, family, pressure, and accomplishments most people will never come close to understanding.

McMahon knew the expectations when he took the job and knows that he failed. He also knows coulda, woulda, shoulda doesn't count -- only Ws do.

I understand your analogy but I truly wonder how much basketball McMahon actually knows. If you watched our offensive sets from his time here, you could tell it was all very elementary. I don’t think I ever saw a flare screen or a big to big passing set in his time here. I honestly wonder how he’s a Division I head coach. If you look at his resume, it is nothing to write home about. If he truly was a savant/guru, he would’ve been poached by a larger high profile program while in the assistant ranks. Aside from one year as a GA at Tennessee, he had no power conference experience before somehow landing the LSU head coaching job.

He’ll never be a P4 head coach again. He has been exposed.

Can this thread be about tracking portal and HS players like the title suggests?

You guys can start a thread on the rant about MM. It doesnt cost to start one so theres no need to hijack a recruiting thread
