Is that preferred lineup tourney capable?
FR and Internationals are always tricky, regardless of rank. However, Wade has more than enough options to put a tournament team on the floor next season. Wade would get that lineup in the tournament.

By definition a Wade lineup/roster is tournament "capable".

Sounds like LSU is confident on Ugochukwu and Santos right now.

Kentucky fans coping so hard saying Santos would be a bench player for them

They are completely full of shite. They are also crumbling on the inside with the realization that Pope is probably not the best fit.

That is some really high level analysis. I think we have one of the best RBs/message boards for a college basketball group going. The beat writer Toyloy Brown or TJ for LSU basketball is terrible over at the Advocate.
I watched a podcast with him and two others. They asked him, now he again is the “beat writer”, what did he think of McMahon coming back and he said some crazy things. “I don’t know anything about their plans and haven’t asked yet”, if you are the beat reporter don’t say that part out loud that’s your job. “McMahon has had some really bad luck with injuries and support.” He never had a winning record in 4 years. He’s a good coach not at this level. Nothing about luck, you are not “unlucky” in 4 years.
Then what I never got, and I would like Matt Mascona, or Toyloy Brown, or the 3 or four others that after everything that happened after Matt McMahons third season. In even remotely program to program comparable games that year LSU went 5-19. After you had Moscona and others saying give him one more year and invest a lot more in NIL for the players. That wasn’t the problem or the solution to it, it was laughable
.
Then even after year four the team got worse going into it. Yeah they had 1 or 2 injuries to their Top-6 guys. But even if they were healthy all year the team what instead of winning 3 games in the SEC they win 5 or 6. They were still terrible. People in the media were saying well with Kiffin and the new staff, and the injuries during the year maybe give him some grace. Like wtf, okay you get marching orders from bosses to put out the company line. But have enough integrity and treat us the fans with enough respect to say that’s what you are doing. Don’t come up with some ridiculous illogical reasoning of why LSU should do it.

Oh yes, that was a joke. It appeared to me that Moscona was actually pulling for the McMahon fifth year. That was probably because he was clinging on to the slight chance McMahon would “turn it around” and help preserve (somewhat) Scotty’s legacy.
Giving a further cent to a continued McMahon coaching tenure should qualify for financial negligence. The WORST LSU head coach of a major sport in the last 50-60 years.
I’m so glad LSU did the right thing.

He'll be coming off the bench at LSU. He has a nice offensive skill set, can step out and hit the 3 (shot 40%), but he lacks the athleticism to be a high-major starter. He is a major defensive liability, basically won't be able to defend without fouling at the high-major level. His role will be a guy who can give you some minutes off the bench and score, but will be limited by foul trouble and defensive ineptitude.
Also, who does he start over? Graves? Dioubate? Niang?

I’m not gonna act like I knew a thing about this guy until last week but it’s possible you are underestimating his ability by a wide margin. It sounds like he’s generally played the 5 which he could do here as a starter in a small ball lineup which Wade generally prefers. Agree that he’s more of an offensive player than defensive but his numbers before stepping up in class indicate he can rebound and block shots.
He’d also be the best 3 point shooting center in the country. He’s shot over 40% from 3, often well over 40%, his whole life.

quick glance shows he has major issues with fouling
committed a foul every 4.8 mintue played
for comparison last year, Nwoko averaged a foul every 6.5 minutes
starter or bench doesn't really matter. This is a guy that would play limited minutes, as the SEC will be a step up in athleticism.

Matty was just reporting what boosters were saying. Basically we didn’t have the money unless it was wade. In January that looked very unlikely but no one knew how much love wade had for LSU. I knew based on matty it was wade or MM and was just hoping it was wade. Season ticket holder for 15 years and we deserved better than MM

So you’re saying we need to roster at least 6 players?

LSU is talking to Quincy Wadley. Top 50 overall recruit for ‘26 class from Arlington VA.
Also still recruiting PF Jordan Burks from UCF.

Burks would be a nice addition. He's one of the better players left out there in the portal.

Watch for an Abdi Bashir commitment to Kansas this afternoon. If that doesn't happen, then one of the best 3-pt shooters left in the portal should visit LSU this week.

Nice.
Burks would be a great pickup at this point. And we all know wade can recruit high school kids with the best of them.

Maybe you can shed some light on this question: is Niang committed?
I see optimistic info but nothing official has come out. Thanks.
