More Euros being mentioned as potential LSU players -

Marcio Santos - 23 yo 6-9 center playing in Israel. Brazilian. This is the guy Mark Pope is flying over to see. Trilly says it's LSU, Kentucky, or BYU and should be announced in next day or 2. Averages 8pts / 4.5 rebs in 18 minutes/game.

Juan Fernandez - 23 yo 6-11 center playing in Spain. Argentinian. 8pts / 5 rebs in 19 minutes/game.

Neither of these two is very impressive. Both went through the NBA draft process in prior years and failed to get drafted. There were certainly better players in the transfer portal.

For reference, Niang was drafted in the 2nd rd at 21.

Also, Kentucky's involvement doesn't mean much. Pope and Kentucky missed out on basically every major prospect they went after. They are currently a train wreck.

So, you want to argue that they are better than what was available in the transfer portal?

Or do you want to argue that Kentucky didn't miss out on most of their big targets?

Or do you want to argue that Kentucky isn't currently a train wreck?

Or do you just enjoy running your mouth on msg boards?

People downvoted away last year when I said that Zipper was worthless. These two are better than that, but they aren't better than what was avaible in the transfer portal.

Best Case:

High Rated FR PG
McNeil
International
Graves
Mo Dio

Plus, a solid bench puts LSU back dancing.

Update on this:

PG seems uncertain
McNeil (Likely)
RJ Luis (Likely)
International - Saliou Niang (Likely)
Graves (NBA Lean)
Mo Dio

Saine is the type of guy I would go after. All big sky. Go after big time players from some of these smaller conferences. Like this kid might only cost 1 mil.

I also like this kid. Redshirted at Buffalo and I believe he just committed to Indiana state.

Hey guys I made a really large new post
Post About MBB Recruiting TLDR in Advance on what I know about our current state this portal, but thought I would add some of the new names LSU has contacted from part of post here as well. Cheers, should be moving very fast early next week when the first domino falls with one of the Euros or Graves the silent commits, HS guys if we take and the rest of the class will fall in short order.

Akai Fleming (Georgia Tech) 6’4 CG 10pm, 33% from 3. From Atlanta, Damon Stoudemire connection as well as a CWW Atlanta Celtics connection. #152 Transfer Portal Player

Dennis Parker Jr. (Redford) 6’6 G- bouncy and rangey microwave scorer. Was asked to be the teams leading scorer on a small and frankly treading water Radford team last year. 17.8 ppg, 2.0 spy, 35% from 3. The CWW connection was he is from Richmond, VA and uncle played on Wade’s VCU teams when he was an assistant to Shaka Smart.

BJ Omot (Minnesota) 6’8 Wing/F Wants an arm and a leg, coming off an injury, but definitely a position less, athletic, and versatile player that fits the CWW system.

Deshawn Harris-Smith (Georgetown) 6’5 CG. Put up 5.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg, and 0.7 spy, but in only 14.3 minutes per game. CWW has a Virginia connection as he is from Fairfax, and gives a really high end defensive big guard, who is young enough that even if his scoring never came around he would still add value as + defender for 2-3 years.

Jahki Howard (Overtime Elite) 6’7 his scouting report says he was the most athletic player in the entire portal committed or uncommitted. From Atlanta and the Atlanta Celtic connection. Marlon Taylor clone from Wade’s first teams at LSU

Ty Rogers (Illinois) 6’6 CG- Extremely athletic that would be a plug and play high major piece off any bench, 6.8 ppg and 4.8 rpg. Again extremely athletic and probably asking for more than the market bore this portal cycle.

Devin Williams (FAU) 6’10 F/C- The #245 player in the transfer portal. 7.4 ppg, 5.4 dog, 2.5 bpg. Big time shot blocker that would add that old Kavell Bigby Williams mold from Wade’s early teams.

Franck Kepnang (Washington) - 6’11 250 lb. While he fits a different model than the typical player in the CWW system, it could be worth noting the SEC bugs have gotten much bigger since he could be an experienced bruiser piece. Cameroonian by nationality a Stansbury connection. 6.4 ppg, 5.9 RPG, 1.8 bpg.

Group D
This group are the HS /JUCo recruits, I would think Wade and staff would want to take one fresh program body but as a lot of teams are doing they may not.

Alex Costanza- 6’8 Wing- #40 ranked recruit nationally, Wade recruited him heavily and hard while at NC State.

Trevon Carter Givens- 6-11 190lb C, #119 Nationalky raked player, was committed to Wade at NC State for over a year.

Chidi Nwigwe #135 overall ranked player nationally, a lot of smoke here as we as Wade recruit from NC State will be visiting soon. 6’7 wing.

DJ Ogomeka- Unranked high school recruit, a project but was recruited by Wade at NC State.

There will be a Junior College Guard visiting this weekend. He has not been offered but especially when CWW had Greg Heair on staff he likes JUCO guys and if they play two years of JUCO they can play up to 4 years for a university now.

He committed to Delaware.

Would be a nice addition. Some NC State fans think Paul McNeil is LSU bound and want Parker to replace him.

Akai Fleming

Former Top 100 recruit that got a lot of experience at GA Tech. Would like to see him at LSU.

Franck Kepnang

Elite shot blocker, but has had trouble staying healthy. Would be a nice guy to bring off the bench.

McNeil is in a much different situation than almost any transfer he might be one of only three this cycle, just so happens he is in the portal from the school our coach left. I actually hope this means we are in the lead for McNeil and Bashir.

Not sure how credible this account is but Woj follows them and they cover Euroleague ball:

“Saliou Niang to LSU, 7 million for him, and 500k for Virtus Bologna”

Maybe it’s a two-year deal at 3.5 per.
