This is an interesting late portal entry with a "do not contact" tag

Don’t be surprised when we sign the guy from Finland;) just little heads up

Very likely would be a bonus portal window. You’re seeing a lot of guys enter portal just in case though. Quadir Copeland is one example. Decent chance he’ll be our PG next year IMO.

I hope you are right. Finnal Four here we come.

Seems to be a dangerous game if they are waiting on the five for five thing. Probably doesn’t even get voted on until late in the summer. So you just aren’t going to have a roster all summer? And if you do some reading on it, IF it passes, it would be for future seasons with existing rules in place for 26-27.

"The Federal Push: An executive order issued on April 3, 2026, explicitly directed the NCAA to put this standard in place by August 1, 2026."
I asked AI for an estimated guess on how soon the NCAA's 5 for 5 rule will be passed.

The 5x5 rule would probably apply for future seasons, because most players will have made their decisions based on the current rules. If the NCAA applied it to this season, there could be many lawsuits by players believing they were harmed by not having that option.

Miikka Muurinen has freakish potential but supposedly still needs a lot of coaching. Wade has a proven track record of developing bigs for the pros

If the NCAA does not make it retroactive to this year, there will definitely be lawsuits. If their goal is to avoid lawsuits, make it immediately effective. No, there will not be viable lawsuits from years past.

No. 2 overall player King Gibson breaks down his recruitment: LINK

King Gibson
quote:
LSU: “That’s Will Wade. We have a great relationship. You know, his personality is a little different, but I love him. He’s building a great foundation at LSU. He feels like they really believe in him down there, so he is going to go out and get a certain level of player. So he wants to go out there and make sure he does a good job this year, just to keep it rolling on to the following season.”
quote:
NC STATE: “They’re talking to me a lot. They want me to come see the campus, and everything, get to meet them a little bit. I didn’t really talk with (Justin) Gainey a lot while he was at Tennessee, but at NC State I want to get to know them and see how they’re going to be running things over there. He likes a lot of my game. On the defensive end and how I’ve shown that I can shoot the ball and be a reliable passer. He likes that I’m a versatile guard.”
quote:
ALABAMA: “My relationship with them has been great. I talk with Tarris (Bouie) a lot, and they talk a lot with Tarris about me. Me and Tarris are kind of like best friends, so we get a lot of feedback about one another from different coaches. I was surprised to see Cole (Cloer) go there, but it is a great spot for him, for sure. They have a good history as a program, and they let their guards get to it. They let their guards rock, and let their wings rock, and they play in a lot of ball screens and do a lot of things that I like to do in my game.”
quote:
HOUSTON: “I have a great relationship with Houston, I talk with them a lot. I watched them a lot this year, once they started recruiting me hard. I watched their level of defense, their offensive spacing. There are a lot of things that go into Houston Basketball, you got to be a dog and be ready.”

Can't wait to see Wade sign a Top 5 2027 class. It's not much of a stretch either.

The NCAA is getting sued already, but I think it is only by players that want to play an extra year at their current school, and the NCAA is winning most of the 70 lawsuits. If they make it retroactive, and then have to treat players as free agents to sign anywhere, I think there will be many more players affected adversely, so many more will sue. I think the odds of a huge class action suit would be far greater than the circumstantial suits they are dealing with now. Some players will have already signed contracts with other leagues, but they may have made more with NIL. Then there are the ones that aren't good enough to get a pro contract, or don't want to move to play minor league basketball, but would've been good enough to get NIL. There will be many schools that have run out of NIL, but would've paid a player, and I can imagine many lawsuits for those losses.
Why are past year lawsuits not viable if it is retroactive? I think it would open up the pandora's box to all players in the NIL era going back to 2021. Then even the pre-NIL era players could claim they were prevented from having the experience of a 5th year, and how do you put a price on that? Anytime you make laws retroactive, you then have to consider who pays the affected beneficiaries, and where do you draw the line. I think it is far cleaner to apply it to future seasons.

Retroactive to this year. If passed prior to the start of the 26-27 academic calendar, then making effective immediately.
Effective immediately was probably the better term.
