May be a lot of 50 and 60 point games as only one recruit thus far averaged double figures last season. If Luis is declared eligible that will be two of nine. Focus should be on adding offensive firepower if the fifte year players are ultimately declared eligible after all of the legal wrangling.

Dessert and Niang have the ability to be on all SEC teams. Everything will feel a lot more stabilized once they are confirmed as good to go.
If this ends up being the main rotation, despite all the noise, it's a tournament team IMO:

Wade's teams generally score a lot of points. Of his 6 seasons as a power conf. HC (5 at LSU, 1 at NC State) these were the national rankings in ppg:
LSU
2018 - 64th
2019 - 15th
2020 - 4th
2021 - 6th
2022 - 103rd
NC State
2025 - 25th
The data speaks for itself. More often than not he has found ways to score points. His first season was trying to fix Jones' mess and we have the 2022 extreme outlier where LSU had a tremendous defensive team. It's preventing the opponent from doing so that has often been the issue.

I love his metric for predicting offense. Just add players scoring averages from the previous season lmfao. Think about using that as a universal metric, all the Kentucky and Duke teams who made deep runs having bb saying “well they’re gonna average about 20ppg as a team based on the previous seasons scoring avg”. The hits just keep coming.

I’m pretty sure he always considered himself as a defensive coach, but personnel kind of turned him into an offensive coach. He intentionally went more defense heavy in 2022 and just didn’t have a real go to scoring guard that the team needed. If Javonte Smart had returned, that team would’ve been incredible until he was fired.

I agree his teams were always high scoring. Of course if you read the comments on this board all they did was play " street ball." Even after an 87-84loss the usual chorus was heard. Victories have many fathers and defeat is but an orphan, right? Someone always needs a villain.
The 2018 team did have four future NBA players and another who was invited to a camp and had a long European career.

Once again taking a comment out of context. Those Kenucky and Duke players you referenced were likely resreve players the prior season. I believe most if not all of the signees were starters on their teams and averaged under 10 points. Maybe they were only the fourth option or below average shooters , who knows but their averages are what they are, Thats not always a bad thing if they are strong defensively. Tennessee wins a lot of games with their defense. Hopefully any new signees will be more proficient scorers.
