He pivots to “no way should he be eligible!” in the next tweet but if it was us it would have been straight to the sky screaming. Forde is probably writing a piece on why LSU shouldn’t be recruiting Madar even though we haven’t for months.

The California state court case that Dent is currently eligible under resumes tomorrow. A decision is not expected tomorrow, and the TRO will remain in place. The longer a decision takes, the longer before the NCAA can appeal, and the longer Dent will remain temporarily eligible.

I'll be at the Tip-off Club practice this afternoon. Hopefully Wade will comment on current affairs.

Some rather large Euro basketball accounts are saying Niang received his clearance 10 days ago. That only makes sense if he is being held out because of the SEC rule. Otherwise, there would be no reason not to play him in the exhibition game. These same accounts broke his commitment to LSU way before any local media. Take it with a grain of salt, because the Euro media also appears to run with rumors with little regard.

That makes some sense. Didnt the sec clear the kentucky guy with almost the same circumstances?
Edit: alot of accounts started breaking this news about 3 hours ago, one decently prominent account saying he’ll play vs florida st. So did he get eligibility 10 days ago, or just in the last 24 hours?

Former EuroLeague forward reportedly gets NCAA approval
quote:
Virtus Bologna are expected to receive a reported $500,000 buyout as part of Niang's departure.
According to the same report, the Italian wing will sign a multi-million-dollar contract with LSU that will make him the highest-earning international player in NIL compensation in the entire NCAA this season.

The fact that he was listed on the roster before the game last week tells me they feel pretty confident he'll be able to play. Probably wanted to make sure all the paperwork is in order and every I dotted and T crossed. Especially with Sankey being a complete bitch right now.

I just want them to have another body for scrimmages at this point.

My assumption is this news is based on the buyout being paid and that leaking out in Europe. That wouldn't happen unless he was fully cleared. Now we need good news on Dessert and Levy (and Dent).

Clark is available now isnt he at least?

Yes. Clark should be good to go for now, pending an NCAA appeal of the Kentucky case.

I'm suspicious this might be bad reporting from Europe since no US media outlets have picked up the story. It broke in Europe first that he had signed with LSU, and within the hour, US outlets were reporting it. Also, the Ruzik news was out within the hour of LSU getting the notice from the NCAA.

It actually makes sense that it would break in Europe first. Think Wade is trying not to publicize these decisions - meaning no US media is able to confirm the reports.
The reports this morning coming from Europe appear to be leaked by his former team - after receiving his buyout.
The only reason Ruzic came out is because he was a few hours away from taking the court. And it came from his lawyer, not LSU.
ETA. If it were up to Wade, it would come out when he sends them on the floor on Saturday or November 3rd.

He doesn't want to give Sankey anything that would let him kick dirt up prior to the season. Once the season starts, if Sankey pulls some dumb shite like he keeps doing, then the fingers can be pointed at all the other schools doing the same thing. And it will highlight the selective enforcement by the SEC.

If Clark and Niang can both play on Saturday, we might have a chance against FSU

Greg Sankey and tHaters weep

Does another school in the SEC have an apples to apples Niang comp? Being drafted?
