3 walkons
6 guys we need to contribute.
1 freshman who needs a year or two to develop.
If you add the 3 internationals to that roster, we’re in really good shape. Would give us a really solid 9-man rotation.
Add Clark to that list and you have the pieces to compete for a top 4 spot in the league.

Three more contributors and another 7 footer to come soon. Let's let the General decide when the time is right to put their profiles up

I didn’t witness many McMen when I was in attendance night before last in LC. The frenzy they were in seems to have quieted down recently.

Dent is not definitive. He is playing under a TRO and has the continuation of a preliminary injunction hearing on Oct 20th.

Does anyone have any major recruiting updates regarding the 2027 class. Like targets and if we are close to adding anyone else? Anyone in the chat can respond if you got intel

The Big 3 5-star prospects currently on the board:
Reese Alston - trending LSU
Asa Montgomery - not as confident
Bamba Touray - recently visited

Bender is more a walk on than a scholarship guy who "needs a year or two" to develop.
This is a kid who averaged 8/8 his senior season of high school and wasn't considered a D1 prospect at all (literally no recruiting profile anywhere). To anyone who watched him play against McNeese it should be plainly obvious he is with the walk ons basically.

You add this guy with Gibson in the class and maybe might even call it, we arent getting 3 5-stars and dont have that kind of money
And lets not count Hudson who we all know will ultimately have to choose between football OR basketball even if he does play a little basketball after football ends in year 1. It never works out today for those types. If he chose basketball for whatever reason, then awesome (and sorry Lane, geez)
You have Gibson and Alston and build a team around them from the portal/internationally from there IMO. Maybe add another solid 4-star type from the class if you can.

I would imagine one the elite 2028 post players we are hard after will reclassify too
I feel like Wade says three top high school kids, referencing one of the 2028 kids, Alston, and Gibson. Hudson would be gravy.

Wade has also heavily talked about retention. The good teams are keeping their guys.
So I think the plan is keep 4-5 guys from this team, add 2-3 high school kids. Then only 1 or 2 major transfers internationals.
Seems like a good plan, just got to make it happen.

I agree. These are the guys who are eligible to come back: Mo Dioubate, Abdi Bashir, Divine Ugochukwu, Sailou Niang, Michael Ruciz. Jordan Bender (walk on type). Add Ahmad Hudson, King Gibson, Close on Reese Alston maybe a 2028 reclass then fill in the gaps with two major additions in the portal you got a solid team there

This is what he did the first go around and he was really good at getting the returnees to improve. There wasn’t many guys that didn’t improve year over year.

A couple of court hearings this week that could impact LSU. Tomorrow, there will be a hearing in the Colorado Federal case (Wisne v. NCAA). If the athletes were to get a favorable ruling, then all 5th-year seniors would be eligible, but only to return to their original school. So, Clark would become eligible, but only to return to UCLA. Most legal experts believe the court will come down on the side of the NCAA.
Then, on Wednesday, there will be a preliminary injunction hearing in the Kentucky case that involves Clark. This is the case in which the 3-judge panel dissolved the TRO, making Clark ineligible. Given the 3-judge panel ruling, most Kentucky court watchers believe it is unlikely that the lower judge would now issue a preliminary injunction. If that is the case, then Clark's last hope will be the appeal to the Kentucky Supreme Court. (This might have been one of the "paperwork cases" that Wade said they were waiting on)

Seems like getting out of the California case was a bad decision by Clark. Of course, at the time I think Mark Mitchell was perceived to be headed to UK, so there was an expectation of getting a favorable home state ruling by being in the same case with Mitchell.
In hindsight, he probably should have stayed in the California case or filed in Louisiana.
