quote:How exactly would that work?
If South Carolina hires Coastal coach, LSU should go get Coastal pitching coach for staff
Option A: "Hey I am the athletic director of South Carolina and I want to spend a shite ton of money to improve the baseball program. Unfortunately for you, Coach Schnall, I will not be spending the money needed for you to bring in the rest of your staff."
Option B: "Hey, it's me Coach Schnall. I loved how good our pitching has been under your direction. Do you want to come make a lot more money to be a pitching coach in the SEC? Also it's only 2 hours away. No? Darnit."
Oh also Jay would have to fire the title winning pitching coach who he just said he's not firing.

I’m shocked nicholastiger had yet another asinine idea in this legitimate, annual thread. RA’d for shitposting.

Unrelated to transfer portal but this article about jordin griffin is really good
Some tidbits
He says he’s is definitely coming to LSU and that he might play football here as well

Also, with football now at (I think?) 105, why not throw him and the baseball program a bone?
quote:
“I’m definitely going to school,” Griffin said when discussing his baseball future. “I know I can do it, but I feel like me going to school, getting knowledge, training and becoming better as a player and a man would be the better decision.”
quote:
“I am not ready to give up either,” he said. “I want to keep playing both. College is my future, and I want to play both sports. It doesn’t matter where I am drafted, I am going to LSU — I hope to be playing baseball and football.”

I keep thinking about how we cut Brady Kehlenbrink loose from our 2024 recruiting class and then signed Cooper Williams late in the process to add another lefty.
Yikes.
I didnt know that. I’ve been looking at him and just wondering how the frick he is at Missouri

He's from the St Louis metro area and probably 80% of the college attendees from his HS are also at Mizzou.

Different perspective on top transfer portal guys from the usual 64 analytics lists posted. This is from Baseball America -

Ojeda is a big one. Draft leverage play, but I definitely think we try to get him committed regardless. Wanted him to enter the portal real bad last cycle.

Let's get #s 1,2,5,7, and 9 if we can get him to play 2nd or 3rd.
Posted on 6/3/26 at 6:45 pm to 304tiger
Well number 9 isn’t available

Im sure morningstar is a draft risk, but helluva pitcher for wake this year, would love him here
Posted on 6/3/26 at 8:38 pm to josh336
Morningstar is an odd case. All conference last year. A lot of publications had him as a first round pick in ‘26. Got absolutely mauled this season. K/BB ratios are pretty much the same as last season but gave up a whopping 13 HRs in 38 innings.
Posted on 6/3/26 at 8:39 pm to covtgr
Yeah he is all over in mock’s too based in the ups and downs. Id bet on the talent and size though

Looking more into Wyatt Hanoian, and man do I want him in Baton Rouge.
53 G, .357/.498/.573, 21K/ 32BB/ 24HBP. Switch hitter, also fielded .969 at 2B. Only real downside is that he's 2027 eligible.
You know Jay doesn't play with poor personalities (Yorke
), so an Air Force kid who hails from Orange Lutheran (also recruited by Jay out of HS) is likely his dream. I hope we do what we can to get him here.
