and I think you can find quality pitchers easier than 20+
HR guys just because of quantity and you get way more late bloomer pitchers at small schools.

The postseason hasn't even started. The A-listers aren't going to announce they are going in the portal then play with their teams through the postseason.

it’s hard to get too excited about anyone that isn’t on mlb draft lists for 27 or 28, highly regarded enough to be involved with team USA, or put up numbers in the SEC/ACC or another top conference. PTSD from good numbers at low/mid majors
This may be, in most years, an unrealistic ideal. I agree in theory, but where would we be without the Indiana State, Wofford-types. The question of who will make the leap to big time contributor in the SEC and who will stumble on the bigger stage, is the million dollar question. There’s just not a linear answer. Every CWS contender shopping the portal is wrestling with which metrics and/or intangibles are indicative of future success. I can’t put my finger on it.

I assume that first number is supposed to be BB

Counting stats are a little light because he only played 23 games. I'm guessing a possible injury because he was playing every game through mid April.

Project, Is there a list of all of our summer assignments? I might find a way to be up in the NE with time for baseball games.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like Rizy has been given his walking papers

Y'all think he was shown the door or left on is own? I could see both
Jay on one hand knows he has to have a better pen next year so he could've told him to look elsewehere, but I feel like Jay likes Rizy and would want to give it another go to fix him. I could also see Rizy just wanting a fresh start and different coaches with how putrid his season really was

Just guessing but I think Rizy wants to be a starter. And that clearly wasn’t going to happen here. I remember Jay mentioning it at one point early in the season that Maverick asked him for an opportunity to start or something along those lines.

I could see it as mutual on both sides tbh. He probably wants a more expanded role and he's not going to get that here.

Now that’s one to keep an eye on.

Logan Schmidt is just a pipe dream isn’t he?

Yeah. I think Hirschkorn is too.
A lot of the other guys dropped a little bit, but I don't think that's going to matter in the long run. I still think we need to give Weinstein and one of the outfielders the Serna package and get them to pull out of the draft completely and get to campus.

If Milam is really in the mid 200s (and falling), that gives me some (surely unwarranted) hope.
I know I'm simplifying things a ton here, but that puts his slot value in the low-mid $200k range. He would very likely sign for more than that, but now you're getting into numbers that NIL deals could legitimately exceed.
I know it seems he's ready to move on, but I'm not
