People probably don't want to hear this but if things play out well in the draft, 2026 should be the year you look for a title. Could have the most power in the country on that team.
I get what you are saying here, but that's a lifetime away with the portal and whatnot happening these days. Just because they come in their freshman year guarantees nothing for the sophomore year. But yes, on paper you are correct.

Has become a much improved defender. Not going to be a world beater but he moves much better than Neal and definitely keeps balls in front better. Don’t think he’s as advanced as Neal as a receiver but he isn’t going to let 4 pitches a game bounce out of his glove and to the backstop. I’ve seen clips of him in the 1KD position that everyone loves so much but i’ve also seen some with him in a traditional 2 heel down position.

I'm hopeful that he makes it to campus (again), but I do have some concern about his defense. I haven't seen him play this year, so I can only go on the numbers. He did throw out 25 runners on 71 attempts for a 35.2 caught stealing percentage. So that's good, and I remember his arm was never an issue. However, 7 errors and 9 passed balls isn't the greatest. If you gave Neal or Travinski the same amount of games this year at catcher as Priester had, they likely would have had worse numbers across the board, defensively. But, being better than those guys doesn't necessarily mean he's good at catching, either, hence my concern.

Again, though, I didn't see him this year. Maybe the errors were just a matter of trying to do too much with a staff that perhaps had problems keeping runners close, and perhaps the passed balls were somewhat due to pitchers crossing him up... I'm trying to be charitable, knowing I don't have any context to go on.

He can definitely hit, though.

I wonder what the plan is for catcher going forward. Guess we have to see if we add a underclass man in the portal, but I wonder if they push for another C in the 25 HS class. Looks like one of the commits next year is going to be a major draft risk.

I had Moscona’s morning livestream on in the background, he was asked about Kilen and said Kilen had visited LSU, Vandy, and Tennessee (as posted a couple of weeks ago by Project). Kilen wants to visit A&M before deciding and he’s waiting until their season is over. He added that if it comes down to money, Aggies and Vols will probably offer more than LSU.

Tennessee is still recruiting him, but they don't really do bidding wars.

There was a different portal commit visiting Tennessee the same weekend as Kilen that basically went into Vitello's office bnd asked how much they were going to give him. TV shut it down there andpretty much kicked the kid out of his office.

It was part of the reasoning behind his press conference rant after they won their super. They had a lot of team chemistry issues because of NIL reporting last year. Not actual NIL, but what people thought guys were getting. So I think he's very careful about it now.

I think you are talking about Omar Serna and he will definitely be a draft risk. He is very similar to Cade Arrambide at this point of his recruitment. Lots of big time tools.

I hate Tennessee baseball as a whole but it’s getting increasingly more difficult to not like TV the further we get away from 2022.

He’s definitely one of those guys that you despise unless he is on your side. Will Wade was one of the most hated coaches in CBB but a lot of fans absolutely loved the F you mentality he brought. He rose for his guys and didn’t care what anyone thought. Vitello carries himself the same way.

They are really playing with fire here for 2025. With no real juice in the portal on the hitting side.

In a worse case scenario where Jones & Braswell go pro, Pearson is going to be the lone returning jr/Sr on the roster.

It’s hard to win with no difference makers in the jr & sr classes

Seems like Jay is headed down the same route.

I’m the same way except I absolutely love TV and the Vols playing the villain role, it makes the sport immensely more fun when you have someone like that to root against. I do like his fire though, just not what I would want in a coach at LSU.

If LSU and UT bow out of the bidding wars, A$M is going to clean up for those guys who want the money.

I'm talking about not giving in to certain players demands right off the bat. Seems to have caused some locker room issues here just like it did at Tennessee last year.

A&M definitely has a history of that working out well for them in the past.

That’s only for new commits right? Not someone like Griff or Jared pulling their names out of the draft?
