Come on man... you don’t possibly believe this? I’ve heard some pretty crazy stuff on every board on TD but this may be the most delusional. Take the purple and gold glasses off and take a deep breath. We lost Ish and it is what it is. Let it go and watch to see how the staff closes. Even if we don’t get Roy it Guillory, this isn’t a bad Dline haul. At least we aren’t putting ourselves in a position to be standing at the alter again in February with 1-3 Dlinemen. I’ll take the 5 we have and see what Roy and Guillory do. We could also be in on some other guys like Ika and not know until December. Let’s see how it plays out and so far it’s definitely not like previous years.

Would you take him out of juco??

nope... he's not talented enough to break through there, then he ain't talented enough to break through here, either... no need to waste a spot on him, plus he had his chance to come here... he passed, so we would have to, as well...

I think Ish liked Bama a little more than LSU, and the reason he was so uncomfortable at his commitment video because he played both sides, just so happen the side he burned involved A governor and the sheriff of where his family lives.

This I could possibly see. I mean, if he really is unhappy at bama and feels like he was pressured into going there, I could see this with a lot of resentment. But...…

I'd tell him yes, as long as he come clean about what transpired with bama. Of course this would make him ineligible to play (IDK, maybe not).

But if he was indeed pressured and really wanted to play with his brother and the only reason he is at bama is because he was pressured so the family could get paid, this scenario may just be more realistic than a lot of people think.

I have no reason not to believe you, but I do wonder how these large sums of money are moved around and delivered in this day and age.

You can't just give someone a quarter mill without leaving a huge record behind.

ETA: It certainly can be done at a high level, but the people supposedly getting this money are not big brains.

Ish will never earn his paycheck. He doesn’t have it in him to play every snap at a high level.

What are you hearing about Boutte? Seems like some Bama folks think it's about 50/50 whether they flip him.

Visiting Alabama this weekend. If you can’t get the full article on the link, I think you can get five more articles in incognito browsing

ETA Roy passed Boutte for no. 1 after this was submitted to the paper

Yea, supposedly on the 26th of July. Guillory? IDK when he is suppose to commit. LSU needs him. I wish McKinnley Jackson was still LSU. Guess that ship sailed.

Anything new on Darnell Washington's interest in us remaining high after Kole Taylor committed?

If Washington wants in the 2020 class we have to take him. He is way too talented to turn down, and he has more physical ability than any TE out there including Kole Taylor.

Guillory has said he is signing in Dec and announcing his school at the All-American game. I’m pretty sure.

I tell Sopsher's parents to open three accounts each in three counties in Mississippi in each of their names and their son's. That's nine accounts. Then I, the rich booster, writes $20,000 checks to each of the three. My wife does the same. A second booster and wife does as well. That's $240,000 and all legal and tax exempt within the gifting rules. The Sopshers deposit it those accounts in an unconcerned state. Who would know?

Sage Ryan liking Michigan alongside LSU is perfect. Will take a visit up there during the winter and say HELL TO THE NO. Also so far from home

The IRS and any entity that does a formal investigation. Both boosters and their wives would have to file a gift tax return because they eclipsed the $15,000 ($30,000 if joint) gift limit to an individual.

That said, I get the premise and if you stayed under the gift tax reporting requirements, you are correct.

The money used to do this is cash money set aside over long periods of time by several people. Boosters give 5000 dollars to the university, 3000 by check and it's recorded, 2000 in cash that isn't recorded. 2000 is put into a safe, not a bank. Get 200 boosters doing this 5 or 6 times a year. Can't trace all those 2000 dollar withdraws. Then pay people off with cash. They just have to be smart enough not to deposit all that at one time. Mattress money. This is how I'd do it. IDK how they really do it. And it's just an example. Could be more than 200 boosters and more than 2000 dollars.

The best way to do it is through churches (the religious ones not the chicken ones). Boosters donate money to a players church as a “help for the poor” fund. That church keeps a cut and the rest is then given to the player as “help from the church”. Nobody is going to attempt to look into the finances of a small church in the south especially a predominately African American church.

Someone knows how it works!

Also, hiring a player's family member for essentially "no show" jobs is another common method
