Big Leaf Magnolia
Yellowwood
Buttonbush around pond (attracts insects that serve as fish food)
Pipevine - Hose plant for the pipevine plover

And I like the devil's walking stick because it is a host plant for the zebra swallowtail (my favorite butterfly).

Right now I can’t get enough of my poster dwarf butterfly bushes. They made it through last winter without issue and they bloom from
spring to fall attracting all kind of insects butterflies and hummingbirds. They only get about 2’ x 2’. Last summer I planted them for the first time and I wanted to see how they did through the season in the winter. Now I want to plant more of them. You do not have to head the dead flowers either.

Blueberry bushes

+1 My oldest daughter manages to pick and eat every ripe one the day they ripen.

Also a couple of dwarf azaleas that are neat for all of a few days a year when they're in full bloom.

Big leaf magnolias
Giant row of gardenias that run along the property line
Blueberry bushes that are currently ripe, and letting the neighborhood kids pick.
And my tomato plants...I'm a few days away from tomato sandwiches.

Kind like choosing your favorite kid, but as it stands today I’d have to say I’m most impressed by

-Forest Pansy Redbud
-Blueberries Bushes planted in 15 gal containers placed on the patio
-Amistad Salvia, herbaceous perennial with deep purple flowers that is continuous bloom from early spring to early winter - honey bee, bumblebee and hummingbird magnet

Now in 5+ years I hope to be wowed by several varieties of Japanese maples and a Rising Sun Redbud that were planted this past spring and a Chinese Pistache (tree) that was planted 3 years ago.

Chinese tallow. Because of its placement right where it's needed.
