About 5 years ago Eley hose reels was recommended by a friend. I bought a reel and hose plus a few accessories and they are still preforming flawlessly. Since then I have replaced my other reels and hoses as they break with Eley products. Its sticker shock at first but if you buy one you realize the quality. The wall mount can be installed at any height so no more bending to reel up a hose. I have a few of my citrus trees over 100' from a water supply so I was combining two hoses to water them. I bought the 150' hose and extra capacity portable reel and now it is no problem to water. It takes 30 seconds or less to unwind or wind up the hose. LINK /

They are expensive, but worth the extra cost. Hose reels come with a 10yr warranty. Over the last several years, I've replaced all of my shite with Eley products.

There's always three price points. Get the best its that simple. A good hose should last you ten or more years .Keep it loosely coiled properly

I bought an Ace brand they advertised as never kink and heavy duty. It has really nice fittings and has been a good hosepipe.
It was like 40 bucks for 50 foot. I don't know who makes it for them but it is nice and heavy.

Zero G = Junk

I have the rubber Goodyear hoses around the house and have 0 issues.
At the camp I have the Zero G because it doesn't leave scuff marks all over the gunnels of my boat when I clean it. 0 issues but its fairly new.

I've got the same thing going on. I've got the hundred footer and have had it got over 10 years.
I did have to mend it about 30 feet out from the female end when my lawnmowing service clipped it, but other than that it is still going strong.
I've tried multiple other types and brands and all lasted maybe 2 seasons. I wanted the expandable ones to work so bad because they're so convenient, but I've yet to find one that doesn't bite the dust after a year or two. Those expandable hoses are so much nicer to fool with than my HD rubber hose, but not when they won't work.

Stanley Fatmax has been great for me.

What was your issue with it? I got tired of skimming through online reviews and decided to go with this because a couple friends recommended. Only used one day for cleaning siding, on sprinklers for watering yard etc but had no issues. Doesn’t leak at connections, light weight and easy to move around , zero issues with kinking and easy to roll up.

Poor flex. Inferior to others I've had.

I have a green one from Costco. Probably a Kirklands brand. Works great but i'm not a hose aficionado.

Big fan of Zero G. The light weight means my wife can actually use it, and it’s easy to coil up when done.
Have had a couple for 3 years now. We store them in the garage (warmed by water heater) over the winter. I read some comments that cold was very hard on them.

I must be snake bit. Every hose I buy leaks at the connector. Every single one, no matter how expensive.

Fwiw I’ll never buy a rigid hose again. Went with one of those expanding slinky hoses and it’s so much better. Have had for 6 months with no problem.
I hear they fail easily but they’re cheap enough to not care.

Watch out for aluminum connections!
I’ve had all sorts of hoses. Gilmore is best so far. 3/4 inch.
