Has anyone ever used rabbit manure for their beds? I added about 30lbs in each of my beds this year. Just curious on how it'll do compared to years without.

This happened probably 3-4 years ago and still freaks me out when we talk about it. I was in West Texas for work, my then fiancé was at the house, alone other than our 3 dogs. It wasn't too late, maybe 8-9pm. I live on about 3 acres, and the house is set off in the back, so it's not just a normal neighborhood setting. Well, one night she called me having a complete panic attack saying someone just came up to the house and walked around it. I was kind of in the "yeah okay, probably heard a coon or possum" state of mind so I tied to calm her down.
She then told me that one of my dogs was losing his mind barking, which I again told, her he probably saw a coon possum or a cat on the porch. She was still freaking, and then she told me what had happened and I lost it. Our male oldest dog was going ape shite, had jumped on the kitchen counter and was barking, showing teeth, growling and scratching at the window above my sink, so whatever he saw, was human height. She said she froze, in movies you always see shite like this and just think to yourself, "oh yea I'd grab my pistol and run out there", but she said she was paralyzed with fear. Well she muted whatever she was watching and heard footsteps on the porch stop right behind the big picture window behind the couch. At this time my dog was leaning up against her looking out the window literally right behind her losing his mind. She said it felt like 10 minutes, (probably only a few seconds) until she heard the guy run off. I immediately Facetimed her and showed her how to load my shotgun, and had my buddy from down the street come walk the property.
Still fricks with me thinking my dog may have saved a pretty bad situation by just being there and being protective. As soon as I got home that following week, went and bought 2 pistols, went to the range and taught her some things about pistols.

If ether is not allowing it to start, then it probably isn't fuel issues. You may be right, something electrical. Stupid question, but I've been guilty of this, you wouldn't happen to have the kill switch tripped huh?

Poptarts and butter. Put it in microwave for 15ish seconds
Thank y'all, spoke to someone at LSU Ag yesterday, very informative. Hopefully they can get me straight!

Couple different variety's. Better Boy (which jumped quick, then stopped), Creole, Black Krim, and a couple different cherry's (Sun Gold, Sweet 100)
They don't look dead or even yellowing, just a bit leggy, and seem to be stunted.
Yea, I'm not far from the LSU Ag in Covington, I'll give them a holler this week.

I'm having trouble with my tomato's getting past 24"ish tall. Started flowering a bit early, so I cut the flowers and small fruit off. I need to check my soil levels. How accurate are those little rapid testers from Lowes? I've used them every year but this year, but after each test in the past, I never really had to make an adjustment (based on the test).
I bought them from local feed store, 3/7 they were put in the ground. Yea I believe you're right, I've been messing with them too much, and watering everyday. I will cut down big time on the watering. Thank you!
I'm not sure of my problem here. Am I over watering? My peppers are not doing good at all, horrible in fact, and my tomatoes are doing "ok". Squash and Zucchini are doing good though.
Few things:
Haven't tested my soil
Only fertilizer added is 10/10/10 in one bed, and I bought some soil for another bed that had Trip 13)
So no fertilizer added yet other than that
Could the cooler weather have something to do with it?
Also, about to go pick up some of the Fish Fertilizer tonight and try that this week.

If and when, do y'all top y'all's peppers? I know last year they're was a thread about it but I can't find it. Mine were pretty leggy, not sure if not topping them had anything to do with that.

In '09, at The Buzz in Hammond, some guy ran over 5 people walking down a side road of the bar, killed 3 of them. One of the guys killed was the driver's roommate. We had just left the bar an hour or so before. I remember hearing all the sirens passing heading to the scene. Horrible
White Crown Vic, black wheels, cop light, tailgating you= white trash 25 year old that's been to jail 3-4 times.

Saw this guy last year catch this off the beach around 6:30am in Perdido Key. Pretty crazy to see. Almost seemed they were fishing for it with their set up.
Wait, nevermind, this was Fort Walton, I'm an idiot. Still crazy though.

I believe I'm starting to develop some issues, hopefully something I can resolve.
My Zucchinis only get about this long before the get blossom end rot and need to be removed, also, the stems to be looking a tad yellowish.
Tomatoes leaves are starting to get this spotting. Sun Spots?
And lastly, my cucumbers have these spots, sun spots? Still producing

Dog's Joint

I have a 9 yr old Catahoula who's starting to move a bit slower, and in the mornings he's all achy but once he's "warmed up" he stops limping. But at some points through the day, if he's laying down a while, when he gets up he limps a little bit. What would y'all recommend for some hip and joint meds? I tried some fish oil pills, but I only did it for about a week. Should I continue that, or do y'all have some more recs?

Not sure if I have a problem or not, but my Zucchini plant is doing great from the looks of it, it's huge. But I noticed out of every 8-9 or so Zucchinis that are starting to develop, about 3 of them are getting about 3-4 inches long and then getting blossom end rot. I still have 4-5 right now that are about 4-5 inches long and look healthy, really dark and will hopefully be ready to pick in the next week or so. Question is, am I expected to lose 2 or 3 here and there, or should all of them be healthy enough to pick before rotting?

Great info, thank y'all
I have Cucumber, Squash, Zucchini, Beefsteaks, Romas, Jalapeno, Bannana Peppers, Bonnie Bell Pepper, and Red Bell Peppers
When is it time to fertilize? Most of my plants are just starting to flower and some are just starting to produce. Also, what do y'all recommend I use? Finally have a decent garden going and too scared to frick it up. Have some Osmocote as well as some blood meal and bone meal readily available, but will order something if I need to.

Is there any vegetable y'all have seen better yields with, grown in a pot than in a raised bed? I have some grow bags I want to try this year and trying to decide want I want in those, and what I want in my raised bed? Is there a difference? I plan on putting tomatoes and peppers in the bags and squash, cucumbers, zucchini, okra and maybe a couple others in the bed unless someone knows better.
Mine did this when my drain was plugged up a bit. Wasn't completely stopped up, but just enough to raise the water level enough to leak from the door.
This past fall/winter was my first time starting my own compost. I plan on planting already started vegetables (from local feed store) in the spring for a 6' x 12' raised garden. Probably a dumb question but, when do I add my compost? When I add my soil, do I go ahead and mix the compost in evenly?
Hmm, I might do some calling around to see about selling them, that would be nice, especially if I don't need to clean them myself.
One reason I want to get them out, is they keep the water cloudy. I think they're the issue of the water constantly being cloudy, could be wrong.
I'm not sure if they are reproducing or not. I know when I moved in 6 years ago, the previous owner told me she dropped 1000 in there a few months prior to me moving in, but they're were far more smaller ones then. Now, they are all decent sized fish with no little ones, so maybe they are not reproducing.
Thanks for the help!

Pumping out Pond
Posted by CDH1990 on 12/12/19 at 4:31 pm
I have about a 1/2 acre pond, 7' at the deepest point, and slap full of catfish. I've been tossing the around the idea of putting some blue gill/bream along with some bass in the pond. But first I want to pump it out and get the catfish out. How would I go about doing that? Call a bunch of buddies with ice chest and a real hunger for catfish? Or is there a company I can call that relocates or does something with the catfish? I really want to do it but don't to drain it down and have 1000 cats flipping around.
