Lesco is a solid brand. All of my spreaders are Lesco's.

Thanks Ronk. I'm going to use the Lesco 0-0-7 on my 8 month old lawn.

Look at the active ingredient in the crabgrass preventer. Probably prodiamine or dithiopyr. Both will control crabgrass.

26% N fert is not needed on warm season grass during dormancy. Will you be ok? Sure. However if your soil warms your grass will start to grow. Then you will get a frost and your lawn will turn purple. Then your lawn will green up two weeks after your neighbors.

I put some hi yield pre emergent with dimension out on Monday in anticipation of the rain we had last night. It ended up raining about 1.5 inches. Is that too much rain?

My local supplier is having trouble getting specticle flo within the week (nw la). He can get Rezilon by this weekend. It’s the same active ingredient but a higher percentage and for the same price as specticle 18 oz bottle, I can get a 32 oz bottle. Does anyone know if Rezilon would work as well as specticle? Label says it treats for same weeds. I’ll have to adjust my charts for spraying but seems like this should work but I can’t find anything directly comparing the two products. Thanks for any input.

I’d rather put something I don’t know much about on time than wait too long to put my preferred product down but that’s just me.

I’ve never used it but with the same active ingredient you’ll be ok. Double check your math though.

FYI-The Rezilon bottle was 320 for 32 oz. It has 19.05% of indaziflam v 7.4% for specticle flo. Max application is 5 oz per acre in single application and max 6 oz per acre annually. The book is not as thorough as the specticle book in terms of application rates for different types of grasses and is limited to Bermuda and Bahia. Book says don’t do more than 2 applications per year and at least 60 days between apps. The hardest part was measuring such small amounts in my tank. I’m treating 2 acres broken up into 5 sections so I had to estimate fractions of a once which was a pia. Hopefully this works out. It appears that Rezilon is more for pastures, but treating two acres, this is probably going to end up cheaper than specticle flo. I was using one bottle per year of specticle in spring and fall application and this 32 once bottle could last me 3 years depending on shelf life. I still prefer the specticle instructions and size of the bottle without having to worry about shelf life but this could be a viable alternative for anyone treating larger areas. Time will tell.

Is it okay to use prodiamine in and around flower beds? I get alot of weeds in and around my azaleas and shishis. I want to get rid of the weeds without harming the plants.

Everyone seems to like their Specticle Flo. I got a 50# bag of Specticle G. Any major trade-offs using the granular form?

Eta: I did fall and spring applications of Dimension and still have a yard full of weeds, so have to change something up.

Liquid is better than granular in my opinion but it’s still a great product. Use your dimension now and save specticle for the fall

Just expense - good bit more expensive per 1000 sq ft to use granular, than spray version, and Specticle is not cheap in either form.

Any reason I shouldn’t just mix my talstar into my spring weed mix? Will I grow a third nipple?

If you’ve got insects you don’t like go for it. Don’t spray clover if bees are present.

I see it’s fine to spray right now but we’re in the middle of green up. What controls in terms of if it’s ok to use?
