In theory, could you: (?) - calculate the mLs needed to cover your area - Dilute that amount into a hose-end sprayer jar - Set the dial to a volume that would allow you to cover your area/drain the jar in 2-3 passes

Sure could - I should try that as I do have hose end sprayers and they are convenient.

Well no - I should have qualified that obviously add the 4 mLs in sufficient amount of water that allows to cover 1000 sq ft of lawn. For my walking gait and sprayer(s) that’s about 2 gallons. For you could be a 1, 1.5, … gallons?

Gotcha, I'll test that out today and see. Thanks

I think I will give it a shot this way as well. I don't think I'm good or consistent enough to get nice even coverage using my pump sprayers. I try to keep visual references as I walk, but my mind wanders w

I don’t trust hose end sprayers like that. I wouldn’t feel like I’d have control.

Got it put down and hoping this rain comes through for me tomorrow.

I'm going to be putting out my prodiamine app down on my front yard (zoysia) and back (centipede). I'm going to do the six month protection which is 10.4 grams per 1,000.

Only way I think it could work is if you work in smaller sections like 1-2k sq ft at a time. Then you could adjust the sprayer to say 4 oz and make lots of passes.

When I think about it….it might actually work. Plus it would almost be watered in at the same time.

Edit: I missed Cajuns and crawdude already say this I should have read the whole thread.

I went ahead and applied yesterday using the hose-end sprayer. I suppose I don't know how well it worked until weeds show/no-show. However I felt like I had a good control. I set the dial low and made multiple passes at 90 degrees to each other. I at least felt like I got more even coverage than the small fan on my pump sprayers.

For the last pass, I didn't have enough to make a full pass, so I added a bit more water into the spray jar and made the last pass.

I suspect it was more work than a pump sprayer but I have about 15k of lawn and the pump feels like painting a wall with a q-tip.

How long does pre emergent have to be down before it's safe for the pups to go outside...

Putting mine out today. Missed the initial split spring application window, so putting down a full spring application.

So, what's the best granular pre-emergent that I can put down with a broadcast spreader? I have about a quarter acre of grass to treat and have used a pump sprayer in the past.

Thanks a bunch. Do you know of anywhere in the BR area that keeps it in stock? It looks like a week for shipping online.

I checked siteone online and I didn't see it. Google says Home Depot or Lowe's may carry it. Also a feed store may sell it.
