Acting like it needs water every other day with how the sun is beating it down

How about y'all?

My Wyze controller ($59) looks at the weather and soil humidity (it polls the sprinkler heads somehow). This month, it watered on the following days: 2, 3, 9, 20, 28 & 30 (last two are scheduled.)

ETA: Houston, with no real trees anywhere in the yard.

It rains at my house every damn day in central Alabama.

I'm cutting my grass twice a week.

We just moved back from Texas where we had a sprinkler system, but water restrictions limited us to a 2 hour window every other Thursday.

Yeah it’s dry as frick. Not critical yet but it did not take long to dry out after that last round of rain a couple weeks ago

Nothing in the forecast but pain too

North Texas-2x's per week and it turned brown while out of town for less than a week. Now watering 3x's per week and it is rebounding. My water bill is gonna be ridiculous.

Switching to a weather aware sprinkler (Rachio, Waze, etc.) dropped my bill from $300 a month (July) to $110 (August) in Houston. Grass, shrubs, and roses looked exactly the same. Nobody believed me, so I brought copies of before and after water bills to the bus stop.

It is the same way up here in NW Arkansas. It got to 97 today and it is forecast to be 99 tomorrow with a slim chance of rain on Thursday. I won't mow my grass unless there is a good chance of rain. Leaving it tall protects the roots from the blazing hot sun.

Good point. That is where it really got in trouble. Won't mow again for a little while

Same here in central Mississippi. My yard is dry as a damn bone. There is a little rain chance this weekend and I am gonna do a rain dance!

I had a 100% chance of 2" of rain forecast yesterday and I didn't get a drop. The storm split and went around me.

I haven't had to water the lawn yet. We got 2" when that tropical storm came through a couple of weeks ago and the grass still looks great. We have around a 50% chance of rain this weekend, hopefully we get some because my hydrangeas are starting to look a little sad.
