Will my lawn recover if I give up watering?
Lawn won’t die….it will spring back to life as soon as you get adequate water. Other plants however will be dead as shite and really expensive to replace. I would also water a tree once you go about a month without rain.

Steady digging up plants that I put down in the spring and early summer. I’ve repotted all my sages, beautyberry, Turks caps, milkweed, a few hibiscus and a few bananas, and put them in the shade. Anything with tender vegetation that is getting incinerated
We are leaving town on Thursday for two weeks I expect that I’ll have mass casualties when we get back. I had everything looking so good too
If anyone is in the Hammond area I’m looking to pay somebody to come water a few times a week until we get back

Great…are you going to replant all of those plants?

they are all pretty sun/drought damaged, they'll stay in the rehab hospital until the fall

Not yet in BR but I’m praying.

We must live on the same street. I think I have an anti-rain weather machine that is always active late July to early September.

2 storms came close to Mandeville and completely fizzled out right beforehand. I got nothing.

Hopefully you guys are getting some rain, because I’m seeing it for the first time in a month in west BR. The glow up around town is gonna be awesome after this

I have had no measurable rain in 4-5 weeks, until tonight. I haven't checked gauge yet, but it's been a steady light rain for about an hour. We still need more, but this was a big step in right direction.

Yeah I finished cutting and cleaning up about 10 min prior to arrival, so the cold beer on the back patio hits the spot

Finally some rain. First rain since early July.

I ended up with barely 1/4" of rain. It was a nice slow rain without runoff, so it helps. Hopefully we can get some reinforcement precipitation in the next 2 or 3 days, otherwise the sprinklers are coming back on.

As expected the storms went to the East and then redeveloped. I got the wind and cooler temps, but no rain.
The weather forecasters suck.

Last night a line was barreling towards my location only to split right over us. 0.05 inches of rain. FML

I’m out of town but it looks like there was a decent rain at my place the other day. I sure hope so…

IT'S RAINING!!!
I ended up getting about a quarter inch. I need a lot more than that.

We got about 3/8" so far today. Getting better but still need more. May be able to mow without a respirator soon......

It is forecast that I may get up to a 1/2" of rain this afternoon. I am crossing all my fingers and toes. My area is 9" below normal.
