getting critical here also. Grass is brown and crispy but it will recover, just sucks that I had everything growing well and flourishing.
I’m prioritizing everything I planted winter/spring. If it’s established it’s on its own.
by the way, there is one good thing about this…if there’s an overgrown area you’ve been wanting to clear now is the time. Grassy weeds and other undesirables are easy pickings at the moment and caustic herbicides like vinegar, salt, etc triple in effectiveness in the hot dry sun
a propane torch can also do some quick work when stuff is dry

Centipede front yard
El Toro Zoysia backyard
Hose dragger-roughly 3 times a week at this moment plus some light watering when needed.
Mow 3 times per week
Doing great. Haven't used any fertilizer since late April and then it was a half dosage to keep the Nitrogen down below limits for centipede.
Have a a few spots of young/small lespedeza (sp?) and two small growths of Crabgrass starting to poke through. Planning on a low dose Celsius app this weekend and maybe some iron.

Just water less. Let the grass be stressed. It will be better in the long run.

I missed out on any measurable rainfall today and none is forecast for the next 10 days. My water bill this month is $174 and this is mainly for the garden.

Same here in central ms. Big system headed right towards us and then disappeared 2 miles before us. If we don't luck up and get rain today, it will be at least 4 weeks of no rain until we get another chance

I am in central, ms as well….i could see the rain coming across the reservoir. Even felt the outflow boundary. Not a drop.
I am pondering letting mine go dormant for the year….no rain on the extended forecast.

I was on the verge of giving up this morning everything looks so bad. The lawn grass remains on its own that’s a given but I spooled up my resolve and decided shite is not going to die on my watch
a big issue I have is that I don’t want to waste my well water on irrigation. I do have a city tap but it’s 500+ feet away from the house which is where all my good stuff is
So currently I have 600’ of garden hose stretched across my property LOL. It will cost me a few bucks in water but by the end of today I’m getting everything soaked. If I don’t do it today it will be a an extinction event. No rain in sight

I find city tap just keeps it alive. Never looks healthy when I have to go extended on tap water.

After looking at the forecast, I'm thinking about letting my grass go dormant. There is no rain in sight for central ms for the next 2 weeks and it's been 2 weeks or longer since the last time I've had rain. The last couple of summers have been ridiculous with the droughts.
