Still in Colorado until Tuesday but I assume with all this rain casualties will be minimal. Very thankful

About the same amount in Jeff Davis Parish. It’s been over a month that we’ve gotten a good rain.

I had a break in the temperature for a few days, but next week has 100 degree temps forecast again. This along with no rain in the forecast.

Ive officially given up on my St Aug here in Dallas. I don’t think we’ve had rain at my house since late June. The past few years it’s looked great until early July and then the drought and heat smokes it. I have a good sprinkler system and a portable sprinkler for the hard to hit areas.
One of my neighbors got zeon zoysia a few years ago and his yard looks fantastic, so I have give that a look.

I am now more concerned about my trees. I have an extra lot with about 30 6 to 8 inch oak and hickory trees. They are already losing all of their leaves. I have a few big/tall oaks that the leaves have started to drop leaves already. There won't be any fall colors this year being it may not be any leaves to turn.

Yep I watered trees last week, probably need to do it again before it might rain end of this week. The heat has been brutal, and kind of dry so I know the evaporation is big time. Don't care about the grass.

likely the oaks are big enough to be fine. They are probably not dying just going dormant. Watering is never a bad idea though

I will be getting the best chance of rain tomorrow morning in a long time. We are about 10" below normal here in NW Arkansas. Last year the drought was bad enough that there was a burn ban for most of the fall and winter seasons. We had only one firepit burning last year due to burn bans.
