Does Celsius Xtra work well?

I'm having a hell of a year with weeds. More doveweed than I've ever seen along with a lot of vbw, kylinga, nutsedge, chamberbitter, spurge, and marsh parsley. I was usually able to spot treat kylinga and sedge with sledgehammer but there is so much I need to broadcast treat. Wondering if celsius Xtra is worth the money.
After the doveweed this year I think I'm going to switch from prodiamine to spectacle.

If you already have Celsius (“regular”) and Sedgehammer at home, just mix the two, with water and surfactant, and broadcast spray the mixture. If you are out of one or the other, then purchase the Celsius Xtra.
But the best route going forward with Doveweed is Specticle pre-emergent applied mid-April-early May (soil temperature 70 F). I’ve fought that battle as well. In fact, if you already have Celsius & Sedgehammer at home, I’d put the $ towards Specticle and apply it ASAP. Not all Doveweed seeds have germinated and we are likely going to have a wet summer with lots of weeds.

I'm almost out of celsius so needed to restock anyhow. I usually only have to get one of the 1 gallon amount satchets of sedgehammer per year since I'm treating so little but this year its everywhere. Thanks, guess I'm getting Xtra and specticle.

I'm not familiar with the bioadvanced product but is it the same concentration of active ingredient as Specticle?
Also, a $20/bag covers how many SF?

I'm not finding a product that isn't labeled killer as well as preventer. Will granular dicamba burn my lawn any worse than spraying it with Celsius?

Anybody go with the Quali-Pro Fahrenheit Herbicide over Celsius ? Was about to check out and the website recommended this instead for much cheaper ($40 for 6oz). Dealing with alligator weed and crab grass. Did a single dose of Celsius and knocked out some of the alligator but now need to reapply

I agree with the Specticle Pro report. I’ve been using it for several years and have very little dove weed or VBW or other weeds for that matter. It’s a great product even if expensive. A 8 ounce bottle goes a long way.

At $330 for 18 oz bottle that will, at least at first, make one think twice. But when you run the calculations, it cost $2.50 per 1000 sq ft of lawn. So for me $25 to treat my 10,000 sq ft lawn. Sure, still a good more expensive than Prodiamine (Barrricade) or Dithiopyr (Dimension) - good pre-emergents - but I’m happy to pay $25 for the weed control, particularly Doveweed, that you get with Specticle that Prodiamine or Dithiopyr doesn’t control.
One can get 4 years, 3 application per year, on a 18 oz bottle of Specticle Flo, on 10 K sq ft of lawn.
P.S. this for the benefit of readers that have heard about the product on the this board but not used it, particularly when they see the $330 price of that 18 oz bottle….lol.

Just has a heads up Xtra has halosulfuron which kills your sedges but they removed the dicamba which is a big contributor to doveweed control.

A few days after this OP I put down the bio advanced weed preventer (same active ingredient as spectacle) and then spot treated what I could see with celsius. It looks like the doveweed has tripled over the past month. I spot treated again 10 days ago with Celsius Xtra. I've noticed some browning on most of it and some has withered to nothing. I'm guessing most of what I'm seeing now had sprouted up before I put the pre emergent down. Shite is everywhere. It looks like the Celsius xtra has not caused as much yellowing or stunted growth of my turf grass as OG Celsius would so that's good.

I’ll add fuel to the spectacle fire. It’s worth every penny. I have 25k of turf, and my weed pressure has dropped to nearly zero. I was a long time prodiamine user. Now I do prodiamine early spring, spectacle late spring, and again in early fall.
Poa is gone, spurge is gone, doveweed is almost gone.
I think just need another yearly cycle to squash it.
Buy a proper electric sprayer, and good pre em tip (coarse droplet) and get it down
