Sorry dumb question, what do I do with motor oil after oil change, and why shouldn’t I throw it in garbage in sealed container?
My dad would just dump it on the ground somewhere...

I put it in the empty jugs and drop them off at an auto parts store/garage.

1) Wait for the inevitable poster asking for how to get rid of moles, voles, grubs, fire ants.
2) Donate used oil to said poster.
3) ???
4) Profit!

When I was in college (home in Nola for the holidays) my dads friend used to pay me to crawl under his rental properties and paint the sills worn motor oil. Fun times. Never saw a termite. Lol

Find the nearest autozone/auto part store and bring it there.

I bring mine to a local service station/mechanic's shop and they let me dump it in their holding pit to be collected by a company that recycles used oil.

either bring it to a oil change place, or keep it for when you make a fire outside.

My city has service centers where you can take things like oil, paint, and other household chemicals. Maybe your city has the same thing.

In LA I believe places that do oil changes have to accept used oil. I used to just bring it to walmart and leave it by the shop door.

It makes a good anti-termite barrier around your home.
But seriously, take it to any oil change or auto parts place and it will be recycled.

My dad would just dump it on the ground somewhere...

Many Landfills take it. Many Auto Parts stores do as well. Old fuel is a little more difficult. Usually they charge by container size so don't take a 55 gallon drum with 5 gallons of fuel (you will be charged for 55 gallons).

I keep mine in sealed containers. Use it for burning fires on property.

Jiffy Lube will take an unlimited amount and you don't have to get out. Autozone takes one container where I live.
