I don’t like to see fighting on this board. Every lawn is as easy or as hard as you make it. I don’t have to fertilize or mow any lawn and I could let nature take its course.
Bermuda does like fert and frequent mows. Some could see that has high maintenance. Centipede/St Aug are prone to death and would need to be replaced. Some see that as high maintenance

Yea I didn’t pick centipede with this new build but that’s what I got

Just use sand. Crappy soil doesn’t really matter to Bermuda. Compost will invite fungus to the party.

When should I spread my Bermuda seed? Is there a website showing local soil temperatures? What soil temp do I want?

Is it too early to seed Bermuda now? I have everything ready to go but worried the temps this week might cool off the soil too much

BR area. My backyard has sections of full sun on a slope. Pretty much all the St Aug is dead. Have some flat areas with tree cover where St Aug is doing well.
How feasible is it to have a combo St Aug and Burmuda lawn? With regard to chemicals compatible with both and cutting height?

You can do it. Personally the look doesn’t work for me but those that just care that it is grass and green it’s fine.
Chemical wise it wouldn’t be that drastic. Msm, Celsius and a 3 way for post em. 6oz per acre of specticle in the fall and prodiamine for pre em in the spring. You’d have to find an agreeable mow height. 2-2 1/2 inches.

(Update) scalped the yard as low as deck would allow and aerated early Friday 3/15/24 morning before the rain. I was able to spread 50lbs of 13-13-13 and 25 lbs of bermuda seed between rain. I think it was perfect with being moist with rain water for 3 days, but not standing water or flooding. Now we will wait and see... (I will post before/after pics later once it hopefully starts making a difference)

One other question for my Bermuda seating. We had Bermuda Hydro seeded last year and a decent bit of it stuck.
Right now we’re about 75% weed and 25% Bermuda.
The question is, round up then seed Bermuda, or something like 24D and then seed Bermuda? Thoughts?
I plan to do the killing Saturday, then the seeding next weekend

It would depend on the weed. If you could control the weed without glyphosate that would save surrounding Bermuda.

Here’s what plant app says. Not sure how accurate. The water avens and strawberry were the same plant, just different angles.

Looks like mainly poa and burrweed. Hit it with msm for burrweed and scalp. That should control the poa

I would just glyphosate that area and sod. Don’t see much grass.
