It doesn't get used very often, but it seems like I can never get the lines clean/clear. Is there a special technique to getting them clear or do I need to just keep filling, running, and draining?

I used a specific product to clean the lines. It works on the bulk of the stuff in the lines but there's just some residual debris that won't go away.

We had the same issue with ours... seemed like it would never stay clean. We just ripped it out and put in a freestanding tub

We had one in our first house. The wife would use it almost every night, so not really a ton of build up. A few times we would fill it with pure hot water, a little cleaner designed for that, and let it run about 10-15 minutes. Still going to be a little debris, but not nearly as much from it sitting up and not being used.

Bleach. There's a lot of plumbing lines behind the tub that you don't see. If its not ran, the water in them sits and mildew/ mold grows up. So it needs to be ran with something that will kill that stuff.

You can pop all of the nozzles off as well if you aren't already doing that. That way you can scrub the gunk off the nozzles and clean the inside of it.

This.

Step 1. Fill it with super hot water, no soap.
Step 2. Pour a few gallons of bleach in it.
Step 3. Run it for 10 minutes.
Step 4. Drain it.
Step 5. Clean the nozzles and replace.

Best you can do in my experience. If you don't use it a lot, it gets nasty. I'd suggest using it more or running clear water through it a few times a month if you don't want to use it.

Fill it with water and add alot of liquid dishwasher detergent and then run it for 15 minutes.

I buy some stuff on Amazon called “Oh Yuck”. It’s a cleaner specifically for jetted tubs and we use it about once a month. It gets a bunch of nasty stuff out of the lines and pump.

The home I bought in 2019 has a jetted tub that I have never used.

Lady that we had do a move in cleaning said to use 5 or 6 dishwashing tabs & let it run for 2-3 hours
Do this once a month

When she did it it was beyond disgusting

I want to get rid of it after seeing what came out of it

Lol guys, put bleach in it. All these ‘amazing products’ aren’t anything more than a degreaser like dish soap and the best you can do is bleach to kill stuff.

Wasting more money then bleach or dawn is completely worthless.

You want a low foaming detergent. If you put dawn in there and walk away you will have a foam wall when you open the door

There are products specifically design for this. They are made for hot tubs. Use them. Bleach and vinegar will only do so much.

System flush
