If so the areas sited would be informative to bird watchers.

Happened to see one at a feeder on my webcam about two weeks ago in Denham (Juban). Have heard them a few times but have only seen the one. Bizarre.

While all the reports of fewer Hummingbirds are still anecdotal, it is becoming kind of concerning. How were last year's numbers with the drought? I'm wondering if that had an impact in some way. There was also population decline concerns back in 2022, mainly on the West coast, but they seem to have returned to more normal numbers from what I could tell from reporting/news stories.
It is just....odd. I've had around normal numbers here in north AL. It has turned off dry this week, so they've gone wherever they go when it gets hot and dry leaving just the area nesters.

A singleton in my yard about three days ago. Usually have 5-6.

I've haven't seen more than 4 or 5 at a time this year. There's a pair that has been hanging around the feeder every day. Last year I was filling 5 or 6 feeders every day. West Fel Parish.

I had 3 a couple weeks ago, but have only seen 1 sporadically over the last week or so.
I've seen more hummingbird moths in the last week than I have actual hummingbirds.

Give it one more week at least. I have swarms every Fall, and I am still just seeing the local right now.

I have seen very few in central MS this year. There is currently one hanging around my feeder.

thanks for the feedback guys...
I'm currently soaking the feeders in cleaning vinegar and will be filling them back up again...

I’ve been meaning to ask this
Do you clean them every time you change the juice?
I usually just rinse mine really well

I rinse in hot water if I fill once a week.
right now I’m only filling 1/4 full, I just have the couple of locals
If they really smell foul, soak in a weak vinegar solution then rinse well

I've had 1-2 all summer but only recently put up a feeder. I've planted so many humming bird friendly plants that they come just for those. I'll start to add a few feeders if I see more.

In St George as well, we have seen 2-3 consistently last week or so. I have two feeders in the back and one in the front.

My wife saw one about a week ago in the evening. I put out my feeders last weekend and I haven't seen any this week

Only one. Seems to be patrolling his turf.

like cgrand said...soak in vinegar then I wash with clean water, air dry and good to go...
I have a friend that keeps some vinegar in a spray bottle and she squirts them down once a week then washes with clean water...she swears it keeps the mold off...

We have seen 2 or 3 battling it out over our 3 feeders. Nice to finally see them
