I go more often to McDonald's and just get a Diet Coke. I'll occasionally get a McDouble and a spicy chicken sandwich.

I cut way back on fast food as an adult but used to love to drive through BK when I’d drive down to Grand Isle to fish with my brother. I’d get one of their sausage egg and cheese croissanwiches and a black coffee. I swear the coffee was hotter than Satan’s piss and it was perfect to nurse during the drive south.

I went several years after that without any fast food. My ex-wife and I were driving on a road trip and I thought how great it would be to recreate the fishing meal so we drove through BK. Back on the interstate, I set the cruise control and got settled in and asked for my sandwich. I opened it up and it was just the croissant. No sausage. No egg. No cheese. I haven’t had fast food since. It was a sign from God. That was over 20 years ago.

But the coffee was good!

I’m fortunate that I’ve never really liked fries. My parents couldn’t even shut me up with a small fry from McDonald’s as a toddler, and when they tried a hashbrown when I was about 4, I called them out that it tasted like French fries.

Weird kid, me.

So the couple of times a year I get McDonald’s, it’s like 500cal because I get 2 regular hamburgers. Nothing detrimental to my overall life.

It’s the one FF I’ll forever go out of my way get a couple of times a year. Those little burgers with rehydrated onions were my very seldom childhood good behavior treat.

We stopped at one in Cowtip Kansas last summer. It was right in front of a cow pasture. Indian (feather) kid brought our mobile order out with a smile, super fast. It was the best Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese I’d ever had. Had to wait for it to cool a bit it was so hot.

I don’t think I’m going to top that experience so have to wait until next cross-country trip.

Do egg mcmuffins or a Big breakfast count?

I spent 14 hours driving yesterday. We went through a McDonald's drive thru for breakfast. I ate a sausage mcmuffin and then felt like shite for the next 2 hours. McDonald's is terrible.

I’ve convinced myself that Whataburger is actually healthy food.

I really try to avoid McDonalds and BK.

Couple weeks ago, after spending the day moving into a new house, I went get Mcdonalds since I had no food in the house yet, and all the pots, etc. were still boxed up. Two double Quarter Pounders w/ Cheese and a medium diet coke. I ate about one and a half. When I tell you ya boys stomach was fricked up for the next day and a half.....

It was fricking delicious, and I do not regret my decision.

I rarely eat fast food, but when I do, its almost always breakfast. BEC biscuit or SEC biscuit. Those don't frick with my stomach. I've convinced myself that since its breakfast food, its no different than if I had the same thing at home.

I went do some work at the deer lease. Ate breakfast at 6am before leaving. I was hot, sweaty and hungry. At 2pm I tore up 2 McDoubles and didn't regret it at all!

I order a big mac, a small cheeseburger with a basket of fries.

No drinks as I drink zero calorie sweet tea from home.

The point reward system is pretty good.
