I’ve been to the podiatrist four times for athlete’s foot that is between my left fifth and fourth toes. I’ve applied Naftin for weeks with very little success. The last time I was at the podiatrist, he painted some kind of purple liquid onto it to dry it out. No luck.

I think the biggest issue is that my feet sweat during the day, and my fifth toe curls a good bit trapping moisture in there easily.

It’s starting to get really frustrating because I’m constantly feeling the need to itch.

I’d rather not get all new shoes, but I guess I’m willing to if that’s the best solution. Though if I have the fungus now, won’t it just transfer to new shoes immediately?

Put everything you can find on it as often as possible. The powders, creams, sprays.......all of it.

I had that shite so bad one time that I’d sit on the side of the tub and take a sock and “floss” between my toes trying to scratch it. It was awful. That was the only time in my life I’ve ever had it.

Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection. I've always used Tinactin and it works fine.

Have also tried with some success in the past with using Hydrogen Peroxide. I haven't tried but have heard that apple cider vinegar works as well. One article on Apple Cider Vinegar.

My brother in law’s doctor suggested Manuka oil

It’s like pumped up tea tree oil - he hasn’t tried it yet, though, so I’m not sure it works

Stop going to a podiatrist and see a real doctor. I’ve never met a podiatrist who isn’t a scam artist piece of shite

For a fungal infection and the like sure.

But the old school podiatrist who made my custom orthotics with a mold was worth every penny of my then parents insurance plan.

Funny you bring that up. Just had a conversation this morning with someone who had a similar bad experience with a podiatrist. He was having foot pain and it took three visits until the podiatrist prescribed an insert. Then the podiatrist wanted him back in three weeks. When the insert wasn’t helping, he canceled the appointment and went to an ortho.

I guess I’ll schedule a dermatologist appointment. Seemed like the podiatrist would do a little bit and then have me back a few weeks later. Fix it the first time, maybe a follow up. But 3, 4, 5 visits is ridiculous.

Blow dry. Seriously. Multiple times a day. After you shower, before bed. Blow dry the hell out of them dogs until there’s absolutely no moisture anywhere. Then apply Tinactin.

Couple things

assuming they arent bad enough to be cracked yet, but for just itching

1) you need to change socks 3 times per day and sleep with socks
2) spray your shoes with tinactin or the like
3) put powder in your shoes every time you change your shoes
4) apply tinactin every time you change your socks
5) dry your feet stupid good everytime you change your socks

do this for a week and it will prolly be gone and you can just out powder and spray and change socks as soon as you get home from work.

Do all of this after soaking the area a couple of times in Hydrogen Peroxide (or 10% bleach solution). You got to kill the fungus first and only a sporicide will do that.

Peroxide for 5 minutes than wash and dry real good twice a day for a week with Tinactin cream on the spot in between soaks.
