Plant based diet

What are some of your everyday meal ideas? Also, I googled this topic on TD. The last thread turned into a shitfest by the keto guys defending meat. Please stay on topic. I am open to try this from some arthritis I have. Keto/Paleo didn't work as well, and my Cholestrol spiked.

I eat cows that eat plants.
What were your cholesterol levels? I’m going in to see my normal Doctor next Wednesday and I haven’t had any bloodwork done since 2015 but it was 137 or so then.

Umm...this will flare your arthritis more than anything known to man. You will start feeling like absolute shite due to the insane amount of oxalic acid you will be consuming. Your bone and muscle health will decline. Your going to have zero energy with your insulin spiking like an absolute madman. The legumes you digest will increase your arthritis.
Moral of the story a “plant based diet” is a terrible idea.
Also the big bad bogey man (cholesterol) that the government and pharmaceutical companies are using to shove pills down your throat isn’t a bad thing as long as you are updated on modern science.

If you post your email addy I can send you a link my Pinterest board full of Vegan recipes. I did it for 8 weeks last Mardi Gras and it was the best I’ve ever felt. I just do long triathlons and the volume of training I do with the Vegan Diet caused me to run a major iron deficiency and it took me a couple months to fully recoup my fitness.
Sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, spinach, beans, lentils, quinoa need to be the staples of your diet. You’re going to have to add some grains (oats, brown rice, seed bread) to allow you to sustain, but too much of them will cause some GI stuff and inflammation. The more green veggies you can eat the better: broccoli, green beans, asparagus, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, Dino kale, spinach, chard, avocados, peas, edamame, cucumber).
Fresh fruit is great: bananas, apples(honey crisp are the best), strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, pomegranate seeds, pineapple, mango, cantaloupe, oranges.
Nuts are a staple too, I like getting a bag of the little packs of nuts from Trader Joe’s that way you have portions and don’t go overboard in one sitting. And some of your best recipes have nuts as their base. My favorite vegan meal(and really any meal) ever is a Golden French Lentil Stew in which cashews that you make into cashew butter serves as the creamy base.
Beets are almost a superfood imo. They taste great and are really good for you to.

No it isn't. I eat plenty of meat so I'm not for one or the other. Every person is different and many people feel great going plants only and are healthier than ever. People who do keto, same thing, depends on the person. I tried keto for 1 month and felt like shite the whole time. I go 2 days on plant only diets and feel like a superhero.

There is no big bad gov't shoving pills down your throat. Every single doctor I know of tries to keep from starting people on cholesterol medicine. This is not only a gay statement you made, it's bogus. Just b/c posters on here get a bunch of thumbs up and post youtube videos or "follow" some guy on Instagram who "seems" smart doesn't always make it a good idea.
OP, keep your cholesterol in check, don't just say frick it on keeping it down b/c some hip folks on here go all teenage girl mad arguing against it. There's decades of research and new research that discuss the importance of keeping cholesterol in check, IT'S SCIENCE!!!!(As they keto folks would say). Just b/c a random tribe somewhere 2,000 years ago may or may not have eaten meat only doesn't mean it's a good idea. For every one of those tribes there were 100s or 1,000s of other tribes and ancient people eating mostly plants. In more recent times, 19th century, people actually ate much less meat than what we today would think they ate. Be smart and do what makes you feel better whether it's plants only, keto, or meats and plants and other stuff in moderation. Keep check on cholesterol while trying different things out and see how they make you feel.

Ugh. You know who is about to post that you were simply doing it incorrectly.

You didn’t intake the correct amount of electrolytes I guarantee it. Also what was the deficit you placed yourself in?

No just no. Cholesterol is not something to be feared as you would make it out to be. Cholesterol is an extremely vague term. Are we taking HDL, LDL, IDL, VLDL, or triglycerides? Most Dr’s don’t even check for VLDL or IDL levels they either simply “estimate” it or act as if it doesn’t exist!

We evolved to eat meat. Link me on these 1000’s of plant only tribes please. Humans only ate other “trash” when they couldn’t hunt and kill an animal.

This is a stupid thread...
First, You cannot Google an idea on TD
You can Google Google; however, and discover plant based meal ideas there
I don't post: What do you eat on Carnivore? Because it's obvious and I would expect for people to not answer my question.
What do I eat on a plant based diet?
Eat plants, dumb arse
Fatty out

Paleo works for me but I get that everyone is different. I would advise you to take some B vitamin supplements with methylated B12 when going completely vegan. Thorne has a great product. Also, take some Omega 3 fish oils from a brand that’s third party tested. I believe labdoor provides a rating scale based on four different metrics if you want to search for one. If you can add some eggs and fish every now and again, that’s just a bonus, but I get if you want to try no meat/fish/animal products at all. My contribution - my wife and I love spaghetti squash baked on 425 for 45 minutes face down after being cut in half and de-seeded. We use store bought organic spaghetti sauce with no sugar added for convenience. It is excellent for an easy quick meal. Good luck!

Yes, it is.
Start with the fact that average meat consumption for Americans in the 19th century was more than average meat consumption today.
I'll leave your little ancient tribes of vegans comment alone since it's asinine at best. You're like some new wave feminist pointing to one small matriarchal tribe and extrapolating that to saying that matriarchal societies are just as common as patriarchal societies. It ignores common practice and scientific evidence.

To be so wrong on a subject matter you sure sound overly confident. Problem is, you are very wrong. I’ve been through this debate 1,000 times on here. I’m not getting into it again with someone that obviously doesn’t know anything. Go read my old posts.

These are just a few links from me being lazy. There are much better ones out there and I’ve got a huge report I had to do in college majoring in history on the cuisine of ancient people. Basically going through every book in the library to write it I could find. They ate some meat when they could but that was a small part of their diet

Your entire arguement is just don't believe everything you read on the internet. It's pretty clear there are a handful of posters here that are very knowledgeable on this stuff and do their homework and bring that in their posts. All of the new science would point to a plant based diet not being good for inflammation and that cholesterol is pretty misunderstood by the masses. You've brought nothing to disprove that other than "don't believe this guy on the internet, believe me on the internet"
