I also eat a lot more eggs than I used to. I try to cut out the other dairy (milk cheese etc), but definitely get down on a veggie pizza every now and then. Also couldn’t agree more about processed sugar. A lot of foods have sugar in them, you’ll get what you need with fruits and vegetables. Cut the white stuff out completely

Why Loma Linda residents live longer than the rest of us

There is a lot of garbage information about health out there. Unfortunately much of it is peddled by the ads on conservative talk radio and fad diets. Don't believe most of what you hear.

The longevity evidence supporting vegetarianism and a moderate lifestyle is compelling. I wish I had known it at a much younger age.

It's a free country and we all can make choices about lifestyle and diet that make us happy. Just do so with your eyes open, and aware of what the downstream consequences of those choices are.

Indian food bro. Meet you at the Silver Coin for lunch.

I’ve been using the Vegan meal replacement from True Nutrition. I still eat meat, but go out of my way to eat at least 1-2 all vegan meals per day. Trader Joe's has a lot of cool vegan stuff.

Usual dietary intake during the previous year was assessed at baseline by a self-administered quantitative food frequency questionnaire of more than 200 food items. ... The food frequency questionnaire was previously validated against six 24-hour dietary recalls for intake of nutrients30 and selected foods/food groups.....Mean duration of adherence to dietary patterns was calculated for respondents to a follow-up questionnaire in which participants were asked to characterize their consumption of meat and dairy products at that time and in previous decades.

Substantial evidence...The death rates of every measured diet hovered around 3.5%. The HR's produced aren't really that significant or provide much info. I hate it when the authors state significant when in reality it really wasn't. If we had HRs in the 4-6 range, I'd perk up.

Yeah. It’s horrific. Plant based proteins, some carbs, healthy fats, and fiber. It’s no cheeseburger that’s for sure.....

Try liquid tumeric (Qunol from Costco best i've used so far) for arthritis and eat a balanced diet, but eat mostly basic food vs overly processed packaged food. Stay under 2500 calories and 100g of carbs, try getting your heart rate up 4-5 times per week for 30-40 minutes per workout.

Good Luck.

True. It sure isn’t compelling though.
