Because they had to kill it. That has nothing to do with it being optimal or not.

Yea that’s pretty much yalls entire argument. Don’t believe all the links people counter you with, don’t believe doctors, fear the boogeyman govt who wants to kill you with veggies, and some bull shite about pharmaceutical companies.

Others have, and my point is people shouldn’t believe a bunch of cock suckers on here in regards to questions about high blood pressure and high cholesterol. People telling them to get off the meds and not worry about it that it’s all a scam. Yes I’ve even seen a poster say HTN is ok on here in the past.

I eat a shite ton of meat, I’m not advocating a plant based diet but the myth that our ancient ancestors ate pretty much meat only is BS and that’s the healthiest diet is unproven and more than likely, b/c nobody truly knows, is to eat everything in moderation. A healthy diet isn’t that complicated

Oh Jesus Christ. Eat your plants if you want.

Same for the OP. Lol that he’s looking to reduce inflammation by eating almost all plants.

That's the health board man. There's studies that say almost anything so you have to say what you find to believe, post your evidence, and prepare to possibly get shite on by others who have studies that show otherwise

Go watch a video on centenarians. I saw one who only ate corn pretty well her whole life. Or people may have some distress in the body that can be cured with Ayurveda medicine. I mean if you are super stressed in spirit food can help but it's not going to cure your ailments. There's no vacuum here for life man, that's why results are different for everyone. Only thing for certain is if you believe something and think you need to say it someone is going to call you an a-hole regardless of who is right.

That's because we ran all those idiots out of here. There isn't any need for ideology/religion to take over science.

Recipes? Avocado oil used to grill asparagus, parmesan cheese after done.

I've made spaghetti by subbing the spaghetti with spaghetti squash. Really quite good, poke holes in squash, microwave and let cool. String out the inside and cook like any pasta/spaghetti dish.

So while I’m the first to say different diets works differently for everyone and I have seen Keto cause inflammation to go away, there is a lot of science behind a Vegan Diet getting rid of inflammation. I mean everything except grains pretty much in the Vegan Diet are an alkaline food and alkaline foods specifically fight inflammation, whereas acidic foods, which all meats are, cause an inflammatory response in the body. There certain vitamins and minerals you just can get without meat, such as B12, and others that it’s hard to meet quotas on such as iron, and then a lot of our vitamins and minerals digest best in animal fat. Tom Brady’s Diet is a pretty freaking well-balanced and good at fighting inflammation as well as including all necessary vitamins and minerals. The trick there is Tom Brady has Tom Brady money and a personal chef who prepares every meal of his!lol

a plant based diet not being good for inflammation
I googled this. Mostly I got:

quote:

One of the main reasons plant-based diets are so beneficial for our health is their ability to lower chronic inflammation levels in the body that lead to chronic disease.

quote:

But the most ideal way to reduce chronic inflammation is, in fact, to follow a plant-based diet, Dr. Boyden said. Basically, you would eat nothing that was once alive and moving, such as red meat, poultry, pork or fish. Stay away from animal products such as dairy.

Have you tried Pinterest? There are lots of great vegetarian and vegan recipes.
You may want to start by asking what type of food you enjoy eating now, then search for similar veg options.
Eating a plant based diet is difficult but it doesn’t have to be boring. We make a lot of curry, stews, chili etc. You will struggle with diet deficiencies, when I was a running vegan I had to eat a shitload of potatoes for potassium to avoid cramps. And it’s no wives tale that beans make you FART, be ready if you spend a lot of time in meetings or other quiet scenarios.
One last thing- I tried being vegan and vegetarian for a while and because I run, I felt like I was hungry all the time. I’ve been pescatarian (vegetarian who also eat seafood) for almost 3 years. My cholesterol is lower and I still get to eat Cajun food now and then! If 100% plant based doesn’t work for you, keep trying until you figure out what does. Good luck, Pinterest will no doubt provide some great recipes you can save for your journey

Also, re: inflammation specifically, it’s 100% inaccurate that you need meat to avoid inflammation. That’s just wrong.

Good choices for a person following an anti-inflammatory diet include the following:
dark leafy greens, including kale and spinach.
blueberries, blackberries, and cherries.
dark red grapes.nutrition-dense vegetables, such as broccoli and cauliflower.beans and lentils.green tea. red wine, in moderation.
avocado and coconut

Google exactly what you want to ask - you may not get the answer you want, but at least you’ll avoid people who aren’t answering your question with snarky meat headed commentary

That is probably where I will land. I would just like to have 85-90% of my intake plant based. Throw in some lean meat to supplement (oysters, fish, etc) Basically the mediterranean diet.

Dude, I love eggs. Maybe eggs and fish with the rest veggies and fruits. Cut out as much of the grains as you can and any processed/added sugar. Those are honestly way bigger culprits than meat and that’s the one thing the entire Health/Fitness Board can probably agree on. Google and find out what you can about Tom Brady’s diet. There’s not a lot out there and reading his book is the only way to get a full explanation, but it sounds like what you’re aiming for.
