Well that's great news, it seemed like she would be resistant to dealing with a meat eater in her presence and you'd be stuck with sneaking protein shakes in the garage in the middle of the night. In that case, just put the chef's hat back on and if you have to go procure your own animal muscle, so be it, if you need recipes or ideas on how to cook, prep, meal plan, etc, there's an overwhelming number of good cooks and meal preppers on this board.

You have to start tracking your food intake. Get off the vegan garbage diet. Eat meat, fish, and chicken as your main source of protein. It's perfectly fine to supplement your protein needs with protein shakes.

Track your protein, carbs, and fat intake. There are plenty of macro counting apps available for iPhone and Android devices. I used the Macrostax app for about a year. Counting macros is invaluable to helping you understand the nutritional content of what you're putting in your body.

At your body weight, you need a minimum of 225 grams of protein per day. Realistically, try to get 1 gram per pound of body weight.

Seems like lately I’m hearing more and more, even from real strong guys, that we need less than that, like 0.8 per kg of body weight.
Now, if you’re trying to stay feeling full without eating too many calories, go ahead and stack the protein, but I don’t know if I would be taking that tack if I was 60 lbs overweight.

225 is a lot of protein.

Assuming you're 50, you aren't retired yet. Is there a grocery store near your office? Buy baked chicken from their hot bar for lunch.

Greek yogurt is a good protein source.

So are Perfect bars. The peanut butter flavor has 17 grams. Those also don't have artificial sweetener.

Id get a grill. While wife is cooking her vegan meal, your steak is cooking outside.

When I worked in Lakeview, I was at the Robert's hot bar every day for lunch. Delicious baked chicken there.

Do you snack or drink a lot of calories. 260 is heavy for someone who fast and eats lots of vegan food.

no its .8 per lbs of bw not KG. if cutting the studies show up to I think 2.4g per kg and some showing 3.2 per kg are optimal for maintaining strength and muscle during a cut. Martin Berkham has some of that listed in the book but been some new studies too that have come out showing that

225 really isnt that much

and even the studies that show 0.8 is enough....if you actuall get deep into the weeds, they actually show up to 2x bw is better, but they deem it not statistically relevant because it was like 0.8lbs extra muscle in like 8 weeks or some shite but if you look at it percentage wise then it is significant.

dante has talked about this a lot in the past. Ronnie coleman too about how he went from 280-325 and the changes he made diet wise.

Jesus fricking Christ so much fricking extra in the responses of this simple question.

Simple answer: add protein powder to your diet. Do you want it to be vegetarian? if not, go with a Whey or casein based protein. Vegetarian? go with a Pea based protein.

there question answered.

I’d like to get started on a protein supplement, but not sure which direction to go to.

Supplement your diet with meat.

Cook yourself some meat to add to whatever BS she's cooking.

THEN, if you aren't hitting your protein goals after taking the two steps listed above, then you can try adding something like a protein shake, or something like that.

But until you start eating real protein, you can forget about hitting your protein goals.

Tard, he didn’t ask any question. He made several statements about needing guidance on protein. Based on his horrible eating habits, he got guidance.

"answers" like the one he was getting are how they stay 260 and out of shape, because they think anyone in these spaces are assholes and dont come back for help.

ive seen almost every board on TD become an ever increasing hostile space.
HF board has been historically a place of help and guidance. What this guy is getting is a bunch of assholes jumping down his throat or bombard him with over information. Not everyone of course, but enough.

Ive never had a problem with you Mingo, but lately it seems you only post to piss on people.

A lot of people get offended by the truth. It’s why we’ve got fat pussies everywhere. I’ll be ecstatic when we stop catering to that crowd.

The initial question was answered, vegan, vegetarian, and omnivore, within the first six posts. If OP was familiar with TD, he would have just stopped there. It's like reading comments on Youtube and Tweets. It's best if you don't if you're not ready for it.

How would you not expect Mingo (and others) to get sick of the sissified hair splitting and take the opportunity to go after the underlying bullshite (vastly obese, needing a food log, stop concentrating on what doesn't work, why do you let a woman push you around, etc.?)
