That’s a lot of sugar. Coca-cola is only 10%.

Again, it all depends on your macro goals.

I usually consume 8 to 16 oz max a day. That's about 20g of carbs which is essentially nothing unless you're really cutting carbs. Like you said it all depends on what macros you're trying to target.

Straight (well maybe not STRAIGHT, straight) from a grass-fed cow, I'd drink it.

As you buy it in the store it's not that good for you.

Lactose = sugar.

Pasteurization kills good enzymes, proteins, vitamins, and bacteria. Separation and homogenization get rid of good fats.

And most US dairy cows are "a1" (beta-casein)--there's some evidence that this is the cause of a lot of people's "lactose intolerance." A2 is supposedly better.

I have mentioned before that Milkadamia is now my favorite milk. Freaking awesome and incredibly healthy. Heavy cream is the only dairy milk I drink, and not very much of that.

It's for calves to grow into huge adult cows (facilitates sleep, encourages weight retention and appetite in part through lactose's great effects on insulin). Adult or not, we aren't even the same species. Hormones are present. The calcium and bones hype is exaggerated.

Do I still consume it? Yea because otherwise I'm stuck with avocados, nuts, and oils for the fats I need to consume. Limiting myself to that without milk products for extended periods of time isn't worth the problems I have from not being able to easily incorporate those things daily. Life's too short to not just let some things slide

I'm telling you Milkadamia (at least the version in the refrigerated section) is so good.

Milladamia is packed with a whopping 1 graham of protein per 8 ounce serving. At over a dollar a cup, you’d have to be a sucker not to drink it....

Another reason I love it.

Eta, because, as Powerman said:

I struggle to limit protein, so it's perfect for me. Terrific low-carb monounsaturated fat source that tastes awesome.

Walmart has it for about treefiddy a half-gallon carton. Zero net carbs (find that a little hard to believe, but I'll roll w it), and a pint (how I drink it) has 10g of MUFA.

Also, this is a treat for me. I haven't drunk regular milk in some 10 years. So it's not like it's a substitute for a regular part of my diet. I just love it w dark chocolate, almonds, our low-carb muffins, cookies, granola (and oddly enough ...macadamia nuts).

I said that.

Fish oil is way cheaper. But man, if you like it have at it. It’s hard to find things that are “healthy” treats. Almond milk is pretty much nutritionally worthless. But it makes my Cool Brew coffee taste a frick-ton better.

Lol. Sry.

Totally. See my edit re "treat."

Fish oil is mostly PUFA--Omega 3(very little MUFA). I take krill oil every day.

I used to do almond milk but it isn't creamy enough and doesn't have much taste to me. And yeah, basically water.

Almond juice is ok for what it is but it can’t beat a nice cold glass of whole milk. I don’t get it very often but when I do I want the real deal.

If you're fasting, milk makes a good breakfast.

Depends on your goals. Milk is full of sugar. I just feel I can use those calories elsewhere, and not ingest any extra added sugar.

Wife and I drink Almond milk because of dairy free and 30 calories a serving...

Let's be honest whole milk is better for cereal and other things but I only drink it every other day maybe so it's not a big deal.

Unless you live on a dairy farm, you know far too much about cows.

Lot of conflicting opinions, both within this thread and elsewhere. I typically have a glass of milk or chocolate milk every day. I don't get very much sugar in other places and not worried about that part of it.

It might be somewhat mental, but a large glass of milk after an intense workout feels like it helps recovery. I may get home and have that 'weak' feeling like I overdid it (to the point that my voice even feels weak) and where I can't eat anything yet. Glass of milk, shower, and then feel better about an hour later for a meal.

I used to down a QT of RAW COLOSTRUM after a huge workout and had noticeably quicker recovery. It is expensive and no longer available at the dairy where I used to buy it.

If you can get RAW milk, that would be my only choice for Dairy apart from clabbered milk or Kefir.

As I age, I am finding Almond Milk and even Cashew Milk easier on the Blood Panel.

Too much sugar. Drink half and half or, ideally, heavy cream instead. (Tastes better too.)

I’m a fan. However, I rarely ever drink a glass of milk now. Usually just in coffee and cereal. My kids only drink white milk or water-nothing else. In the last year I’ve discovered fairlife milk and I wish I would have discovered this years ago. It’s fabulous!
