I’m in education and coaching and love working out and staying active. I really enjoy CrossFit or working out at a gym that has a basketball court or other amenities. My son just turned 1 and with my schedule of leaving home for 6:15 at work and getting home after practice there’s just no time in the day.

I even looked into going before work but I’d have to be up at 4. Workout 4:30-5:30 and be home to shower and get dressed. Anybody ever run into a brutal schedule and made it work?

I could wake up at 4:00 for a bit but I’d never be able to stay consistent with it. Can you go after your son goes to sleep? Thankfully my schedule is flexible so I don’t have that issue.

Do you have time during a lunch period?

I’m in education as well. Can you workout at the school?

If not, why are you leaving at 6:15am for work?

I could workout at school early but I’d be disgusting for work. And I honestly don’t enjoy it so I know it wouldn’t last. Tried a bit last year

But why are you leaving so early?

My school starts at 8. I leave at 7:30 to get my son to his school then over to mine by 7:50ish.

I’ve been doing mostly early mornings during week. Weekends more intense and longer but differing times depending on other stuff going on.

Your early morning availability sounds more limited, I realize that early is tough. Mine more like 5-7am on average.

I workout while my wife is doing bedtime routine (baths, story time, etc). It’s generally between 7-8 pm.

I also work out at home now. That helps a lot. It easier to convince the wife to go workout while she is with the kids when you are still at home and nearby if she needs help for a little bit.

I have dip bars, parallettes, rings, pull-up bar, resistance bands. If I can’t get to the gym, I just get done at home

This is what I do pretty much every day. It’s not always easy, but it’s how I’m able to train consistently.

You just don't want to do it. Whatever, that's fine, but you are going to find an excuse for every question or suggestion in this thread.

He just needs to buy some equipment for his house and workout in the evenings.

Adjustable Bench
Barbell
Enough plates for 225
Rack/Pull-up bar
Some cheap adjustable DBs
Rower

shite won’t be cheap. I think I have built up around $4K worth of equipment over the years.

Workout at home. 30-60 min at the house is much easier to find than all the extra time associated with driving to a gym and back. Plus you can multi-task at home. I bring the kids outside with me and let them play in the yard while I workout in the garage. My favorite is mowing the lawn on leg day: calves, mow the front, lunges, mow the back, squats, edge, then crawl inside.

you may need to adjust your definition of working out. there are so many exercises you can do in 30 minutes to get a full body "workout".

go try 30 minute EMOM of 10 burpees and lets us know the results
