You can “train” however you think is best for you but none of us are anywhere near the top talent. Don’t think just because they stick to a 3 hr time limit they aren’t still putting in volume. Camille herring has talked about this a lot. Turns out she may run three time a day and still hits 80-100 m...

The government got revenue from my paycheck. I used remaining money to gamble. I won x but then lost x so no one gained or lost anything but the government still gets more revenue from me now. Makes zero sense. ...

Not exactly. The cash used was taxed via my paycheck. Now I’m being taxed again on a zero gain and the casino is paying tax on their “win”. ...

Not saying to allow net losses to be deducted. Just that a net zero at end of year ( amount won is equal to amount lost during the entire year) shouldn’t have an impact on overall tax owed. I gained nothing overall from the gambling wins as I lost equal amount but now owe more tax on my work income....
Heart rate gonna heart rate.especially at race pace. No reason 160 isn’t maintainable for marathon. What do you really think it should be? I think the better question is how did the pace for that distance feel? If it was fairly easy even with your running build up over the past few weeks then that ...

Agreed there are fundamental differences but in today’s society the stock market is treated as a casino by many and many have lost. Do you honestly think people should have to pay more taxes if caught in the situation I presented? I gained nothing but now owe more because I participated in a “vice”...

Probably true but why. both have risk. gambling is with money that has already been taxed. the operator pays tax on money you lose. you can write off stock losses ($3k) per year without having any gains. so why should someone be penalized for gambling when overall it was a net loss for the year?...

Follow up question - would stocks have the same affect as gambling in this situation? Situation A: Guy making $100k salary. no stock market actives. His taxable income will be $86,000 Situation B: Guy making $100k salary. stock market profits $20k on one stock and loses $20k on another stoc...

Yes you should be able to offset loses with wins but not just loses alone. The tax situation for gambling is not really upfront and clear especially with all the new patrants who probably have no clue. When I've had a taxable wins I've never received any notification at that time nor was any tax wit...

tax deduction question

typically file using standard deduction. this year I have W2G to claim but at same time have equal loses to write those off. however the amount is enough to put me over using the standard deduct but now I don't have enough other deduction to claim and have to pay more tax on my regular income since ...
Auburn I wouldn’t count on 15 miles a week at your zone 2 level to really keep your fitness level if planning this for multiple months. Or maybe it does by seems it would delay any progress you’ve made in past 6 months. Why wouldn’t you at minimum keep one day of tempo. Otherwise I think you might ...
Yes the government is bloated but making dumbass blanket statements that government workers are under qualified and can't get private job just makes you an asshat. I'm a professional engineer with an MBA and I currently choose to work for the federal government. Spent 10yrs as private consultant....
Making great progress!! I’ll suggest if you want to feel confident in getting close to the 3:30 goal go knock out a 15 miler at true goal pace. Running 8:30ish for 10 miles after a “workout” day is a measuring stick but is stilll a long way from 8:00 for 26. ...
again your statement is true but not for all. High roller / VIPS don't get limited. most lose more than they win so they are coveted and catered to keep them. Sharps and line error shoppers get slapped with limits. My SO is C suite for one of these operators....
That may be the case for some but not all. VIP don't get limited even when they win. other issue with ohtani is he wired money to an illegal operator so that's probably wire fraud. another reason he know claims no knowledge....
The issue isn't that he gambled its that he used an illegal bookie. MLB policy is he can wager just not on baseball. Gov'ment just wants that tax revenue. and yes you can wager $100k online on mlb games. ...
From BR (central). Lived in Atlanta, Houston, Birmingham, Houston, New Orleans, Philadelphia and moving to Bozeman in 3 weeks. I'll report back but prediction its going to be awesome!...
Time on feet. If your legs are crapping out by 3 miles you’re simply over running your current condition. As far as weight goes think about sticking to 180 or lower. You mentioned being 41, I’m 46 and it’s exponentially harder to get the weight off now than it was 5 years ago. Think in long run do y...
Dude if you’re taking n 130g of carbs which is 500 calories an hour you’re asking for stomach issues especially if it warm outside General rule of thumb is 10O cal per mile burn rate so at 8 miles per hour you’re barely using anything already stored before taking in another 500 calories and hopin...
