GF finished 3:19:10. She's going to be trilled with that PR. she qualified at Gulf Coast with a 3:20. Guess we both will be running 2022 in april....

Kball and HogB Good work sticking with it and battling to the finish. I wussed out on running Boston. Just didn't see a positive for running it. Risk further setback with knee and or mental setback of finishing with disappointing time or straight up DNF because I wasn't trained. weather is...

re: tOfficial Running Shoe Thread - ks_nola
Stop fretting so much over shoes. There are lots of good shoes out there. Get one that feels good. Shoes may be a small deciding factor on who WINS the race but the engine is what gets you to the finish line. Put a shoe on and go tune your engine. ...

WW Nice Race! you're getting real close to your goal. Did you go out a little hot, maybe but we're only talking 15 sec over goal pace so I wouldn't worry over that. if you blasted a 5:45 then its something to reel in. How hard were the first 3 and then how hard were the last 2? You still have ano...

JBeam this is the type of run that I think benefitted me the most to build fitness. Timed intervals. Stick with the 3min pick up working pace and then work towards lowering the recovery from 2 to 1 min and also work towards recovery pace being a working recovery, something maybe 1-1:30 min slower...

re: tOfficial Running Shoe Thread - ks_nola
T-alley if you like brooks why not give the another one in their lineup a try. Ghost is a solid shoe. Glycerin if you like more cushion for the pushing. I'd say the biggest downfall of the Endo Speed is wet traction. its not nike trail shoe bad but i've noticed a little slippage but mainly on ...

re: tOfficial Running Shoe Thread - ks_nola
Agree the Endo Speed is an all around great shoe. I have the pro as well and so far based on 20-30 miles I don't like them nearly as much as the speed. what I'm excited about is the return of the Zoom Fly. ZF 4 expected to be out in NOV. I really hope they made major changes from the POS ZF 3. I'...

T-alley In general your plan is much better and I think you'll start getting the benefits if you stick with it. One possible suggestion - switch Thursday and Friday. I don't see the reason to have slow run, off day, long slow run, and then recovery ride all in a row followed by all the intensity ...

BRM.... its that time again.. the monthly heart rate I don't understand why mine is so high, I'm in super good shape postings. Why is BRM's warm up at 8 min pace.... short and sweet 12k miles in 4 yrs, he doesn't skip runs or take off for 3 months b/c its hot, runs with a PURPOSE. This isn'...

re: Can someone with experience with ESOPs give some advice - ks_nola
limited experience but they are two separate things. ESOP if the company chooses to offer to you, typical you have to buy shares with after tax money or the company could give you shares as a form of bonus. You would pay tax on gains when you sell stock back to company which may have restrictions a...

BRM and others running NYC not sure if any have already ran this one before and or familiar with the long process of getting to the start and WAITING. its all worth it in the end but it makes for a long day. I was in the first wave after the Pro start and had to catch bus at 5ish AM and the race...

re: Official Running Log/Marathon Training Thread - ks_nola
I haven't follow any particular plan. I pieced together run types based around mileage that I wanted to total per week. I would guess my "focused" training block was maybe 8-10 weeks. 2-3 days were working intervals totaling 5-7miles on treadmill in the morning and then maybe one of those days anot...

re: Official Running Log/Marathon Training Thread - ks_nola
Everybody has a "plan" that works for them. My biggest issue with the plan you posted a link to was the lack of miles at goal pace. the only miles it had at goal pace or faster was the 3-5 mile "speed" day. Running the long run at goal pace +45 secs just doesn't work in my mind especially when the w...

re: Official Running Log/Marathon Training Thread - ks_nola
T-alley I hope that plans works for you. I have a hard time understanding how one is expected to run their Planned Marathon Pace (10k + 45 sec, according to plan) when the plan only has you running that pace for a max of 9 miles. The long runs are all Planned pace + 15-45 sec. Also don't think t...
