W4D4 D0NE!

Got in the gym about 4:15 to knock this out while it was empty. 1st set was easy. 2nd set was solid. 3 and 4 made me worry about set 5. Set 5 was the only one with a rep failure. Failed 5th bench set at 9. I used 67% of a 95%TM. Even with 4.5-5 min rests, this felt like a sprint in the gym. 50 min total with warm-ups. Loved this and looking forward to PS2 Monday!

No doubt the 21’s and other bicep work in PS has helped. 21’s still suck!

Looking forward to PS2. My goal is to lose 8-10lbs next month too. Currently ~16% BF

Can’t be said enough, especially bench 21s.

I missed out on the beginning of this round- so I started Pool Season II 2 weeks ago. Finished Week 2 yesterday.

I don't know much about Season I other than following along what you guys mention here.

2 weeks in I have to say I love it. I like the layout for 3 days of major lifts, then a pump day to end the week. I do think he uses shrugs as a filler a little too often, but I sometimes add some extra bicep curl work instead. I also do a 6 minute ab routine from YouTube after each workout.

I feel like I may have shot a little low on my TM, but will more than likely run season 2 again after a week off and will bump up the max #'s.

Feeling a bit of allergy/sinus issues this morning. Energy is a bit low but I'm still excited to get it done. Gonna have to rely pretty heavy on the preworkout today to get me through.

W4D4 done. Had to break it up into 2 triple sets due to equipment at the gym. Cut rest time down and definitely got a good sweat in. Looking forward to starting PS2 Monday!

W4D4 done, 60% on bench was probably a little to low. Did 65% on the last set

Hammer curls were tough after alt DB curls and rows.

Just did round 1. Tried to do regular dips but that was tough. I think I’m gonna switch to bench dips for the rest.

Season 1 in the books. Today was not the day to be feeling sluggish but we got it done.

W1D4 was my favorite day of this one.

W4D4 done. By far my least favorite day. Hate hate hate circuits. Used 65% on bench and wasn’t that much trouble. On to PS2!

Wrapped up wk3 yesterday; this is my first PPSA program.

Thoughts:

1.) Overall I really like it, showing me I’ve needed more upper body volume. Set/rep structure is great.

2.) These warmups are lackluster. Having come from years of Power Athlete programs, I’m accustomed to a more robust warmup with lots of trunk work. I typically add in some PA stuff, some sled drags and KOT stuff - bringing my sessions to a solid 90min. I don’t follow the long rests.

3.) This is more bicep work than I’ve ever done. I’m actually half assing it a bit to make sure I don’t hurt something while I acclimatize.

Started too light on purpose (coming off a layoff), so I might run Season One again with a more accurate max.

W4D3 today with some modifications: after finishing up 5x2 &85% I left 2 plates on and did an AMRAP. Hit 20 reps but I think I could’ve done more in retrospect I just had 20 in my head as a good number. Then we just did the rest of the workout as a giant set of 1arm row/RDL/ezbar curl/rear lat raise and it was awesome. Gonna go take a walk now and get some Sun :)
