Got this off T-Nation and it’s awesome

Crank treadmill to 15%
Grab two 35# plates, one in each hand
Walk for 10min at 2mph

But is that working your cardio? I consider cardio moving at a fast pace, not 2 mph.

It did mine.

You can always up the speed if it’s too easy.

Looking forward to jackasses leaving 35# plates in the cardio area. At my gym the cardio area is on the 2nd level.

This could be the next spin class if we position this correctly.

Imagine a room full of dudes on treadmills with plates in each hand.

ETA: /s I’ll need to incorporate these into my week.

Lol. No doubt.

Foresee lots of baws falling off treadmills and busting their shins with 35# plates too.

Wouldn't dumbbells be easier?

Probably smart. First time I did it I used 20s and it was too easy. 35s we’re tough and I didn’t think I would make it but I think I’m actuality I could have gone another min or two.

Grip and shoulders/traps will give out first.

I used to walk on the treadmill with 135 on a barbell at 10 level incline. Then they changed the rules at the gym because people were complaining they couldn't use the two treadmills next to mine. Total horseshite

if you workout at home or someplace where you can get outside, look up kettlebell mile. or just go grab some 20lbs cheap dumbbells from wal mart and start doing it.

the benifits are amazing, especially in body comp

I actually like the way plates feel in my hand and they are slender so they don’t hit your thighs. Certainly no reason why you couldn’t use dumbbells though.

I think I had the idea to use plates because I didn’t want to hog the one set of 35 dumbbells for so long.

Or rowing with plates stuffed in a back pack.

I put 40 pounds of dumbbells in an old playmate ice chest and use that for over head presses, dead lifts and carrie's.

How often would you recommend?

Daily? Non lifting days? As much as you can?

I've added farmers walks into my frequency method pullups and pushups. Every hour for 8 hours, after the pullups and pushups, I grab 50lb dumbbells and walk 160 feet. Which adds up to almost a quarter mile a day of farmers walks.
