Does anyone here get “you look less” than your actual weight?

I often get people say “you look less than that” when I tell them my actual weight. Do some people carry extra weight well compared with others? I always thought that was BS.

I do. I am heavy. When I took WSI training, I was the only one that could not float.

Since starting working out last June, I have been told several times that I have lost weight. I am the heaviest I have ever been

Same here. I’m 232 and people think I’m 215-220.

Yeah. All the time.

I’m around 195 now, but usually look 10-15 lbs lighter than those around me of similar weight.

Same. I hang around 173-177 and people think I’m 190.

I've never gotten the "you look less," but I have gotten a lot of "really?!"

I wear a suit and tie to work. I have had people tell me that I look bigger in casual clothes than I do at work.

I'm naturally slender, so it's hard for me to look like I have any muscle in a suit. So, either I'm going to have to invest in sleeveless suits or accept reality.

It’s rare that someone asks my weight and not something I would bring up in conversation. I’ve been in the 170-180 range for 20+ years, this site is the only place I offer more information than in real life.

Had this happen a little while back. Went to get a dexa scan and the guy asked my weight. Told him 250 and he made a similar comment. Lean mass was 180 and bone density was off the chart. I guess that’s above average for a 6’ guy. Want to be in the 10-15% range so I have a ways to go...

This. If someone 'often hears' that they look less than they actually weigh, it's because they're intentionally bringing it up in conversation or leading conversations to that point. People don't just out of the blue ask you what you weigh.

I’ve gotten to about 160, but every time someone “guesses” my weight it’s always in the 140 range.

I've gotten that a few times. I'm around 185 now, but people have told me 165-170. My forearms aren't huge, I don't have a gut, and my beard hides the fat under my chin well. I carry it all in my butt and legs.

205 currently......fighting weight was 180 in prime condition. i feel like a bloated german corp in a canal after a hurricane.........but people ask me all the time if i'm losing weight.....i think its because i'm lifting again and my shoulders are getting broader, so stomach "LOOKS" thinner.

Sometimes, people say I look 160 but I'm actually ~180ish.

#metoo

I have long, skinny arms and legs. When I tell people I want to lose 20 lbs, they give me a WTF look. I am currently 228. My ideal weight is probably 195.

6'4".
