I was on a run this morning and ran by a home with the lights on, curtains open, and a butt naked lady standing in her living room drinking coffee. We made eye contact and she just grinned and waved. I’m a married man, so I waved and kept on running. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a shite eating grin on my face for the rest of my run lol

Not what I would call crazy, but about 5 months ago I watched this 50 something year old lady completely bust her arse on roller blades. She refused help so much it was like the people trying to help her were at fault.

nothing too crazy, but a few memorable things

- a deer caught in barbed wire and when a few of us tried to help it, it freaked the frick out and wrapped its head around the wire and eventually killed itself

- being hit in the face with a half eaten Big Mac while road running

- old biker lady flashing me while husband gave me a thumbs up

- witnessed and potentially stopped an attempted home robbery while running at 3 am

Watching a guy, who I actually knew, crash on a bike in a freak accident and die. I was running down the street and as the group passed I was telling them all the "heys" and "what's up?" About a block away he swerved to avoid some lawn crew blowing off a drive and lost control. He went over the bars and slammed the pavement pretty hard at about 20-22mph. The guy was a long time cyclist, bmx-er, and actually raced motorcycles so I guess that is what made it a total freak thing because he was no novice.

I got there before any other cyclist could even turn around to come back and he went in to slight tremor shakes and crazy deep breathing seizure. Sadly, I didnt' want to move him but I could see blood coming out of his ear. Obviously we called 911 and he was life flighted to a trauma center. The family had to make the decision to take him off life support.

On a run with friends in high school we heard this noise that sounded like leaves rustling really hard, close to the ground. Come to find out it was a hawk tangled in a barbed wire fence trying to get out as we ran by. We stopped to look at it and one of the homeowners nearby saw it and came over to help. He put on some welding gloves and managed to get the thing free without it tearing his arse up.

this reminded me of a XC practice in HS where we were running a trail near our HS and all of a sudden a fricking llama walks out in the trail in front of us and wouldn't move

none of us had ever seen a llama before, so we were too scared to go near it, so we just stood there yelling at it and it stood there for several minutes

our coach was pissed at our times and didn't want to believe our llama excuse

*there was a llama "farm" nearby and it had escaped

When I lived in southern cali I would run on the beach sometimes. In the winter it would be dark but with the light colored sand it was still somewhat light. At the end of my run one evening I saw what looked like a beached dolphin or other large sea mammal so I jogged closer to investigate. It was dark so I had to get close but then realized it was 2 dudes 69'n each other. Fuuuuuuck!

Trail running lends itself to “damn nature you scary.”

Craziest one was a coral snake eating a rattle snake. Seen two rattlesnakes mating in the middle of the trail at 5 AM.

Few different bobcats startled and or stalking me.

There is a certain “section” of my trails that s known for gay hookups. Saw a couple of dudes snuggling in the brush and a dude walking around naked.

Pavement pounding:

I’ve seen a couple yelling in the car and then the girl get out and the dude throw his stuff at her in the street.

When running the strip in Vegas I saw a drunken barefoot girl stumble out of a casino at 6 AM. Jump the barricade, cross the strip, jump the other barricade. I couldn’t see if she got up, because she was on the other side but she at least made it across alive.

When I travel for work, I try and find fun spots. Usually parks more than anything. It’s pretty regular to pass cars where couples are in the throes of love.

Running early morning downtown Nola gets you all kinds of crazy, but one of the most memorable was a "furry" in a dog costume being walked on a leash by some woman on Poydras around 5:30 a.m.

My runs are boring compared to these stories. Lots of pretty nature and wildlife is about it.

I too am happily married, but the other day i was running on University of Montana campus and two "coeds" stopped in front of me and one started to pull her sweatshirt over her head. I kept on trucking and didn't look back, somehow. Let's just say she would've probably had a decent OT rating, had I noticed....

A big black bear ran right in front of me a few weeks ago, while I was running with the stroller. He got sort of caught between me and some hikers and was trying to decide which way to go. Thankfully he just took off to the creek bed.

Ran past a very neat homeless encampment in the trees/brush by the Clark Fork. Just a single dude. I can't say as I blame him.

If we expand to cycling, some redneck threw a beer bottle at me once. Barely missed.

it was a full grown coral vs. a baby rattler... but for propriety's sake:

corals are extremely docile creatures. one time a friend and i were running up a hill full tilt and at the top i ran in to him when he stopped and lurched him forward. he was about 3 feet from a 4 foot coral. we tried to get it off the path for their and our own safety and it wouldn't move till we just about pushed it to the side with a stick.

you just about have to ask them to bite you in my 2 or 3 experiences with them.

You probably won’t see her on any centerfolds. But she wasn’t hard to look at

On a gig in nowhere, Oklahoma I went running on an isolated road behind a casino. About a mile in, there was a complex of buildings that looked like an old, abandoned junior college. No cars, nobody in sight. Creepy as all hell.

I started taking wtf pictures and just like that, a dude pulls up in a 4 wheeler w/sidearm. I had credentials and clearly look like a musician, explained myself and he said good day, gtfo, and I ran on back to the bus.

Turns out I stumbled into a place they call “The Lab” that was an ani-terrorist training complex. At least that was the story the locals believed.
