Trail running lends itself to “damn nature you scary.”

Craziest one was a coral snake eating a rattle snake. Seen two rattlesnakes mating in the middle of the trail at 5 AM.

I stayed at my mom's ranch out in Parker County, TX over 4th of July.

There was a trail that connected Weatherford and Mineral Wells. I ran on it one morning and it was fine.

Then I decided one night to run on the trail around sunset. The trail was infested with copperheads. I made it about half a mile before saying frick this and turning around and finding somewhere else to run. Dozens of copperheads and playing the game of "is that a tree branch or copperhead" was not fun especially because it was getting darker

Returned to run that trail a few mornings later and no snakes. I guess it was just a sundown thing. But I had to have seen at least 100

Nothing near as wild as some of y'all but night running with my XC buddies in high school out by ULM's campus we saw a few blurs pass between us and an oncoming car. Ended up being several deer, one got struck by the car and we had to hurdle over the struck deer. We dedicated our state run to our fallen comrade. RIP Stagholtz

Found a drunk women with a bad head wound in the middle of the street while running through a ritzy neighborhood around 9pm one night. Ended up literally carrying her back to her home. I put her on the couch and rummaged through her kitchen and made her an icepack and got some towels for her wounds skinned knees/head. I stayed for close to an hour to make sure she was okay. Even secretly filmed a pretty funny video of me doctoring her up on the couch. Left my number for her to follow up but never got a thank you text.

6/10. Not bad for a late 50s gal.

Ran in a nature preserve near Beaumont. It was beautiful, with trails along canals and birds flying everywhere. Until I started disturbing the sleeping gators. The trail was only 4-6 ft from the canal and the gators were sleeping right next to the trail. They would hear me approach before I saw them, and loudly splash into the water. Startled the crap out of me. Happened about 4-5 times over 45 min before I gave up the run.

I ride my bike on the paved trails around my community. I have seen some weird stuff over the past few years.

A woman taking a crap in the woods.

A old man watching porn on his phone.

A woman pushing a dog in a pram stroller with a billy club on her wrist.

Not a run but a ruck march: we'd been rucking since the afternoon before and the sun was coming up, so we'd been at it a while, when a deer comes tearing arse out of the woods and knocks my buddy a good 15 feet across the road. None of us reacted or said anything because we were so tired and my buddy's just lying in the road wondering WTF. At that moment my platoon sgt turns around, and not having seen or heard what happened, sees my buddy lying in the road appearing to take a nap. He comes running over screaming "get the frick up, get your arse up, what is your problem!!!"... etc.

My friend just stood up, got back into the column, and no one ever said a word about it.

It was raining on a morning run and I had my cap pulled low and was looking down to keep the rain out of my eyes. I just happened to look up and about 20 feet in front of me was a momma skunk and her babies. All 4 of them had their tails up and were locked and loaded. I was very fortunate to look up when I did.. Needless to say I chose to go home by another route.

Never really seen anything too crazy. Have seen a couple of older dudes in parks obviously waiting on some other dude to bang.

I once scared the hell out of some kids in the LSU International Student Center a few years ago. Had a 90 second split decision to either shite on myself, shite behind a tree near sorority row, or hope to the Lord that the International Center was open. It was. Pretty much ran in and desperately looked for the first person around. Luckily they were too puzzled to say no when I asked if I could use the restroom. I proceeded to fill the shitter with hot gumbo like substance. Really felt bad for whoever came in next.

Not on my run, but on my way to my Sat group run. I found a guy with his Mustang in a ditch. He wanted me to tow him out. When I advise to just call the cops, he got sketchy. Told him to call a tow truck and left him.
