Day 15 in the books. A great workout to ease in to week 3. I warmed up a little more than I have been so this workout turned out sneaky long.

NY knees weren't real friendly on that first 2 sets of squats, but they came around.

Also, I dropped back in weight on deadlifts this year and my form is so much better. Looks like I had been ego lifting for a while and lucky I didn't really hurt myself.

Before the end of the day, I'm probably going to adjust my TM up on Squats and Bench Press a little.

Day 15 down

Today was much easier than expected, especially squats. I feel like Aaron gave us a little bit of a break today after last week. Workout was a little on the longer side if you honor the rests, but it wasn't too taxing at all. Worst part was probably my grip on the deadlifts.

My physio recommended a squat stance (or semi sumo) form for deadlifts when I hurt my back. So (1) any time PPSA programs deadlifts it’s extra leg work for me and (2) my deadlift #s are really low compared to others who squat and bench what I do. I never use straps either and so grip strength on the bare bar often limits me at the high weights.

This used to bother me, but eventually I realized that it’s way better to train with a safer form. I still am progressing, and PPSA programs enough other back work I don’t think it’s much of a deficiency.

Yea starting off with a split squat back squat superset would’ve been a tough scene to start the week. I’m definitely dragging arse through this 5x5 workout

Solid workout today. I had to speed through the cardio because I was running late. Got a great burn through.

Lol

I made sure to fly through todays workout. Ended up doing some ancillary chest cable flies, incline isolation press and lat pull downs.

That’s just unacceptable. You’re going to become skinny fat by eating in a surplus and not taking lifting seriously.

shite looking at tomorrow I may keep the bench in an ideal spot and do box squats instead of regular squats.

Back at it this week. Day 15 finished! Squats went up easy. Knees are feeling ok.

I liked Bill Starr Tribute day the most, although it feels strange to call it that and not include the press. 5 sets of 5 on all 3 major lifts suits me just fine any day of the week. It feels like several years ago that we were doing things like 70's Big and the Pressure Cooker, but it was just a week ago, right? Percentages were right in the sweet spot today, nothing too brutally challenging, but not a walk in the park either.
Now I'm off the bake my Protein Pumpkin Pies for the week and cook some Ghoulash!

About to hit the supersets. This looks like it's going to be a rough one.

Yea, that’s about how long it took me too. I hadn’t done front squats in several months before Squatober but those seem to be moving really well for me. May need to do a few months of subbing front squats for back squats to change it up next year

Was a smooth, nice moving workout this morning. I think the warmup was the toughest part. But I like those warmups. Makes the squats flow so much better.
