I don’t have an Apple Watch and really don’t want one. Just want something cheap and easy that does heart rate, calories, etc

Any suggestions?

I got the amazfit on prime day super cheap. It does the trick. Not great on tracking your sleep, but as far as exercise it tracks steps, swimming laps very well, cycling, walking, running, etc. It is pretty good at automatically starting to track exercise without having to tell it manually. It also provides weather, you can view texts, see who is calling your phone, etc. It doesn't have cellular like an apple watch.

Any of the fitbit trackers. Charge or Inspire. 5 to 10 day battery life.

I have it and like it too, but notice at times it lags in counting distance when I run. Today over 8 miles it shorted me 0.2 miles.

Fitbit Charge 5.
I did lots of research. One of the most accurate for calories and heart rate although none are totally accurate other than a heart rate monitor.
Garmin, Apple, all those are crazy expensive.

Have had a Fitbit Charge 5 since April 2022. Was excellent, until today, when it crapped out for good. Swam with it (have done this many times) and now it’s non responsive and gets stupid hot when on the charger so I’m guessing it’s dead.

Cheap usually means accuracy issues. Spend the money on a Garmin.

I'm in the Garmin camp, even if you don't need all of the stats. You may want them one day if you get more serious, you get more accurate data, and honestly the basic forerunner isn't that expensive.

My Fitbit Versa 2 died this week in Vegas. Didn’t survive the sauna this time after many years. I’m going to replace it with a Versa 3.

Bought a Garmin forerunner to see if I liked it and wanted to make sure I stuck with running…got the Epix2 and I love it. I think it’s the best in the game. Worth the money if you’ll use it.

Garmin looks like it runs a DOS based operating system. But the battery lasts long and accuracy is good.

You're likely referring to the models with a transflective (ie. old school calculator type) screen. This is intentional due to superior battery life and direct light visibility.

They've recently come out with more modern OLED based models.
