I am trying 20.2 this afternoon. We will see how it goes. Hopefully my shoulder is ok with the thrusters and hanging from the rig.

It has been two weeks now and while it never bothers me too much in the workout, it keeps me awake at night. Trainer wants me to take it easy and let it heal. I am too stupid for that. 2lbs away from being 40 down. Can't let up now.

Are you signed up for the open?

If not, sub out the thrusters. Like heavier db front squats

No

Oh, I am going to take to take it easy. It is part of a class that is doing the workout. I plan on going light and dropping the dbs at the first sign of trouble. I will probably go straight to air squats.

I probably could have pushed 7 rounds doing it this way, but there was no reason for me to do any more.

I did 7 due to the usual fatigue one has coming off an illness. I did not push at all. laid down some. Got all my dubs unbroken from 3 on. This is the kind of work out I could have done well, for me, had I not felt like poo.

This one absolutely pissed me off. I expected 11 rounds or more....got 9 plus 10 reps. The thrusters absolutely blew. I felt like the dumbbells were 90 lbs. I did check them once to make sure that I didn't pick up the 60s.....I didn't.

We had a guy go 18+5 Rx this afternoon.

He was 6 rounds in 6 minutes and then settled in to a 1:10 pace.

I got 17 rounds + 4 RX today. I stuck with this strategy and did 7 rounds EMOM then went to 1:10 for a few then 1:20, 1:30.

Next Castro hint for 20.3 looks like a completely trashed car; like one that sat in a field for 75 years:

Did everyone quit the open?

My prediction: It will be something that is terrible and I will say that I am not going to do it. Then, I am going to get up to the gym and succumb to peer pressure. It will be bad and I will totally regret doing it the next two days.

Not that I know of . . .

Me: "I'm working through an injury/soreness. I'm just up here to bike and burn some calories."
Anyone: "Come one, how will snatches and toes to bars ever hurt your shoulder?"
Me: "well . . . ok"

Have a feeling this will be my "lol well I guess I'm scaling this week" workout.

Did my first successful rope climb yesterday, and although I would imagine they're never used do to gym limitations, its nice to have em in the bag just in case.

Yea usually the 3rd wod of the open is what we call the “separator.” It’s something that’s got a technical move to it such as muscle ups or hand stand walks. Then you really see a divide in the athlete scores.

The first 2 wods are to sucker everybody in to paying for the open bc “it’s for everyone” right?! Lol

I guessed an 18.4 redo with a friend earlier today.

21-15-9
Deadlifts 225/155
HSPUs
21-15-9
Deadlifts 315/205
50’ HS walk

9 min cap

Well... I can do Rx and climb the rankings ladder likely not getting out of the 21 HSPUs in a year it really doesnt matter, or I can scale and get a good workout in. Yippee.

We just did a 225 DL & HSPU workout today with some MUs/Strict Pullups.

4 rounds
M1: MUs/Pullups
M2: Deadlifts
M3: HSPUs
2 min rest

Coach said to keep reps no greater than 15 each min and I hit 15 strict HSPUs in R1 & 2 unbroken and 11 in R3 & 4.

I’ll probably do this 11-10 on deadlifts and kip 11-10 in the 21s, 8-7 in 15s and 9 in the 9s before attacking 21 DL at 315.

Yea that’s gross

That many reps on deadlifts at those weights are going to legit hurt people
