C&J. Much better at them, it'll be easier on my shoulders, and I'll need the rest for burpees anyway.

I dont know. That many burpees will make it six of one and half dozen of the other.

Got 136. About what I expected, and don't think I could have done much better. Slow and steady was the way to go. Just not a great combo for height.

Hitting this today at lunch... I have a few mini-goals in the workout.

Finish the first 3 rounds in 4 min which equals 1:20 per round, and do the next 3 at a 1:30 pace. This will put me at 8:30 with 4 rounds to go. If I’m not dead, a 1:40 pace over the next 3 which will have me around 13:30 with a round to go.

I watched Nick Urankar and his tips on IG, and I’ll try the circle BFB method where you move in a circle over the bar. Follow the bar down early (instead of dropping from the top) and going right to the ground for BFB #1 of each round, Re-grip at the top on the snatches when needed and always try to go unbroken in the 8 reps.

I time capped

Yea this isn’t meant for people in over 5’10

That 95lb got heavy with the clean and jerks

My shoulders got smoked and I couldn’t find a rhythm with my burpees

I might try it again with the 65lb

Yeah I thought I would be able to go unbroken on C&J and was rudely awakened in the second round. I was surprised my shoulders were fine the entire time. Cardio is what killed me. Just couldn't breathe

Yeah we got pay back for the gift of 19.1. I've come to accept I'm gunna be terrible at everything but rows, wall balls, and power cleans. Just hope they get a bar moved up this week so I can get full swings on the rig.

I wasn't feeling great today, so I just kept my heart rate down and kept moving. Scaled to 55lb I got 7 rounds + 8.

I was capped.

Hit my goal of 3 rounds in roughly 4 min, but I couldn’t sustain anything after round 4 and I hit the wall.

7+4 Rx

If I had paced better, I would still crash 5-6 min in. Sustained cardio is my biggest problem right now.

Pretty much muscle snatched every rep. BFBs suuuuuucked.

I did it Rx. 7 plus 4. I really did not find it that taxing. I found a pace early and just went to grinding. I had no delusions of finishing.

Unbroken Clean and Jerk were really nothing. I dont think I could re do it and do any better.

I did look up at the clock as I was finishing rd 7....thought it said 13:25.

Addressed the bar and coach calls out 28 seconds left. I was like WTF I was fixing to sell out and try to finish 8, thank God I didn't try it.

after wards I did 8 snatches...it is MUCH harder, I did them in 18 seconds. I did 8 Clean and Jerks in 23 seconds. Not that big of a difference time wise.

Nice

5 seconds is 50 seconds of you keep that pace... For those that actually may finish but are on the bubble it makes a real difference.

Personally, I rotated snatches and C+J. 2 rounds each.

those that can finish are not debating snatch versus cleans.....if you do 8 snatches you will burpee a whole lot slower unless you are as fit as those people

Man I am 50 and fat. I know all the old man Crossfit energy saving tricks. There would be no way for an average crossfitter to do the snatches and not Suffer performance wise on the burpees. Lose a second a burpee and you lose any gains made.

A guy at our gym that should’ve beat me by a full round beat me by 5 reps because he tried to snatch the first four rounds

Yeah I did 1 round of unbroken snatch and the rest 4-4 C&J. Told myself to never snatch and changed my mind at the last second. Always come out too hot and always regret it

I hear you but my point is mostly for those on the bubble. We had 2 coaches do it and they snatched the whole time, neither likely would've finished if they were doing c+j. Both finished with under a minute to go, one only 10 seconds left. But the Rx snatch weight is light for them and they move through burpees quickly.

Personally none of it matters for me bc I'm fat and there's no way 95lb snatches were happening in that volume. Just arguing theoretically here.

The guy at our place repeated it doing clean and jerk versus snatch and added a full round plus 10 reps.

I suppose me calling him and mocking his performance being only slightly better than mine served as quite the motivation!

I judged a guy that started on snatch for a round, switched to C&J for a round, and went back to snatch the rest of the way.

He said the C&Js threw off his breathing and he would have done worse if he kept doing it.

They guy may have just paced better to get those reps, I went out too fast and crashed 5 rounds in.

If I did a redo, I would have tried keeping 1:30 from the outset vs doing R1 in a minute, R2 in 1:10-20 and R3 in 1:30..
