LIV’s problem isn’t the team format.

Team format is fun as hell and can be suspenseful. Ryder Cup, NCAA, etc. I think the Olympics should have a team format.

Nobody gives a damn about LIV teams.

A team format for a couple events a year is fine. It’s unlikely I’ll ever give a shite about what “team” wins in a season long type format, but I don’t think that’s the biggest issue with the team aspect with LIV

The biggest issue is the team names and their branding resemble a low budget children’s Wii game. Whatever firm did their branding for this aspect should be collectively thrown off the top of a building

people want to find any little thing they can to get pissed off at something instead of just watching it and enjoying the actual thing they are tuning in to watch which is the actual golf.

i didnt really think it was terrible. i may be different but when i watch golf, i watch the golf. i dont care about graphics and logos and whatever else is going on. it was a pretty good leader board with some big names that eventually went into a multi hole playoff.

Same here. It baffles me that someone else can watch the exact same thing & come away thinking the complete opposite (below), but I just toss it up to people watching it and getting upset that it’s not exactly like their PGA golf they watch on CBS.

Example:

LIV’s problem is the TV production. It’s borderline unwatchable

It's their own fault for not getting on some network other than CW. It took me a while to find that channel Sunday. Nobody is gonna stumble upon it.

Wait… you think it’s hard to find a free OTA network that’s usually somewhere in the first 12 channels?

So chalk you up as someone who is against LIV I suppose. If you like golf for the golf, not sure why you would be a fan of LIV. Before LIv, you watched golf where the best players were together

Now you watch golf where they are split, but they are richer. Not much done positive for a fan like yourself

I watch LIV through the LIV app on Apple TV so how do I get counted?

You don’t. I mentioned this to pride last week because I knew he’d take his victory lap with viewership in US on the CW.

LIV broadcasts live on their app to 180 global territories. They have other global broadcasters in over 90 territories. LIV just announced a partnership with Movistar Plus+ to broadcast their tournaments in Spain.

None of this has been included in the reported viewership of this GLOBAL tour.

And you still don’t understand it’s all relative. Everyone streams. It’s not exclusive to LIV

Once again, so does the PGA tour.

The other truth is LIV lied to players about OWGR.

Or the truth is the OWGR is being unreasonable… in what world should players not get points for beating the caliber of guys on LIV?

LIV doesn't play real golf tournaments. That's why.

Meanwhile, let’s celebrate Ludvig Aberg for the “fastest rise in OWGR” since Tiger Woods because he got 41 OWGR pts for finishing 2nd in a 54-hole, limited field, no cut event.

Should be about who you beat, not some arbitrary standard of “real”

All liv has to do is make it a real Tour and not contracted exhibition. The OWGR made it very clear to them. It’s their choice. It’s very telling that people choose their own path against the established standard and then complain when people don’t change for them.

If the top 40 guys in the world form up their own men’s group and play 15 events a year with only themselves should they get points?

Because that would be strong competition right? Stronger than anything going

He gave about as level headed/reasonable response as someone could possibly give, even sides with the pga, and that just wasn't good enough for you. You gotta make sure you tell him how he should feel.

That’s essentially what the PGA Tour just did for 8 of their events.

I’m just asking someone who likes “golf for golf” and they didn’t need anything new or fancy, why would the emergence of LIV be a positive?

except it’s the exact opposite. It’s based on RESULTS and it can change. It isn’t based on singing a contract and you are in.

There's a strange contingent that thinks Saudi Arabia taking over half of the good players in golf is sticking it to the woke PGA Tour mob.
