Sunday, the golf channel aired a replay of the 3rd round. It got 225k viewers.

So a replay from the day before equaled LIVs live Saturday numbers.

If you say so - where are the golf channel numbers from Pebble Beach?

So Friday round premium channel pga tour is equal to Sunday liv when the pga event is cancelled

Sounds about right

This is what I said:

Maybe it has to do with the platform (CBS/ESPN vs CW/Golf Channel) instead of the product?

So yeah, it does sound about right.

PGA pebble beach (Friday) on Golf Channel, 462k
PGA Amex (Sunday) on Golf Channel, 530k
LIV (Sunday) on CW, 430k

I think it’s a refreshingly, new golf product & I’m a fan of a lot of the golfers. What I have a hard time understanding, is why so many other golf fans are so loyal to PGA?
I’m open to something different & the two can coexist

Right. Sunday LIV is equal to a Friday pga designated event or a Sunday at a weak field pga event

People aren’t loyal to the PGA. They are loyal to watching how tournament golf has been played for 100s of years and all the top players together

Why? Outside of majors, It’s pretty boring. I like the idea of something new

Are you not understanding my point or are you just being obtuse?

Numbers on the CW & Golf Channel don’t have the same reach as a platform like CBS or ESPN.

You are being a complete buffoon and thinking it’s the channel moreso than comparing a Friday to a Sunday Or a designated event vs a non designated event

Also, for your reference, golf channel is a premium channel. The CW is standard cable via local broadcast antenna

61 million Americans have the golf channel

235 million Americans have CW local affiliates broadcasting LIV

You once again just refuse to like factual data

It's a terrible watch when you do find it. They need to spend some of that Saudi money on the product.

The whole thing sort of screams rich Arab money cheesiness.

I swear they were playing techno music over the course one of the times I flipped by, and the graphics were stolen from 1978.

Given that last year only like 100 people watched, most of them on here, it's a pretty good number. Not enough to justify the money they are throwing around but not a bad number at all given it's only it's second year, it's on the CW, and half of golf fans still view it as the blood money league.

If the Masters aired on BET I'd watch it. I don't care what station it is, if I want to watch it I'm going to watch it. But they need to get on a station with a wider audience.

CW is basic antenna cable. It’s in 100% of households that have TVs. Now roughly 70-75% of the CW local affiliates cover LIv, so you are still looking at 250 million or so households with CW. It has plenty of households

Ok I guess I should have said that they need to get on a station that people actually watch. That would have been like the 7th highest watched show on the CW. Probably wouldn't have cracked the top 100 on Fox. The most viewed show on the CW last year averaged 1 million views. Bob's Burgers averaged 1.39 on Fox

People aren't tuning in to the CW. It's certainly better than being on just YouTube, and a 50% increase in viewers is good, but a better station would get more people watching.

I think this week will give us a good indication. No golf at Pebble on Sunday I’m sure gave LIV a boost in the numbers.

But also, having Jon Rahm is such a massive boost in credibility and him being in contention constantly should help since he’s incredibly competitive regardless of the level of tourney.

This is crazier than any PGA or Liv number out there

I primarily watch YouTube golf now. With the two watered down tours and the infighting over billions it has turned me off from pro golf. I’ll still watch the majors though.
